Introduction: Whatever level you’re at on your guitar-playing journey, I can help you develop your playing to sound the way you want to sound. Whether you like Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, Indie/Alternative, or Pop, I know (and love) all of these genres and can help you become an expert as well. My goal is for my students to develop a deep understanding of the guitar so they have the ability to teach lessons of their own someday. I know how daunting auditions can be and I’ve had a bunch of crazy auditioning experiences. I can help you with college or precollege/summer program auditions and help you with all the music theory you’ll ever need! I’m a graduate of the Jazz program at the University of Miami (Frost School of Music) and have done programs at institutions such as Manhattan School of Music, Berklee, NYU, and Eastman. I’m also a two-time winner of the International Sharon Lynne-Wilson Guitar Competition (2016, 2019. Rock/Blues Category). I am a somewhat experienced guitarist (and have been a teacher as well, for context). Aaron has the two major necessities when it comes to teaching: inspiration and know-how. My first lesson with him started with a conversation and a jam. He gave me broad points to focus on and practice with specific intentions. When I came back for my second lesson after practicing what he had told me, we were able to dive even deeper into what I wanted to develop as my personal guitar style. He was able to meet my knowledge level and add more layers onto it without repeating things I had already learned, which is a skill that is only held by efficient and the most effective teachers. Yet still, when a basic concept came up that I wasn’t fully up to speed with, Aaron explained it directly and thoroughly. Only two lessons later, and the impact of Aaron’s teaching has already fruited into my knowledge of the instrument. My slide playing was my main point of interest for my lessons, and I have since received compliments from my musician peers that whatever sauce Aaron drizzled on my brain was working its magic. My only regret is I could not do more lessons before moving back home for the summer. I highly recommend his teachings for beginners, intermediates and experienced musicians like myself.

Aaron is an awesome instructor who you can tell really knows what he is talking about! The lesson content was presented in an efficient and effective way. Aaron is very passionate about music and he explains advanced theoretical concepts in a way that a beginner could understand. He is very patient, and while we worked on mostly advanced material, I think he’d be excellent for younger, inexperienced players as well. It helps that he, himself is a very good guitarist! Highly recommended for all levels.

Aaron was able to accurately asses where my playing could use improvement and gave me practical and clear ways to improve. He really knows the guitar inside and out and I felt like I was in good hands during my lesson with him. If you’re looking to get over the intermediate hump or if you’re a beginner than Aaron would be a great teacher for you.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll start slow and we'll have a lot of fun learning about music!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music (2022). I placed 3rd in the Rock/Blues category of the International Sharon Lynne-Wilson Guitar Competition (2016 and 2019). In addition, I have completed workshops at institutions like Berklee, Manhattan School of Music (Precollege), Eastman, New York University, and Jazz House Kids.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love music and have been learning/discovering it since I was 6 years old. I began teaching at 14 and have loved every minute of it!
