Excellent work and great people. Took measurements and provided a quote on the same day. I needed my kitchen sink cabinet and drywall repaired/replaced because of a leak. It now looks better than before the leak. I highly recommend their work and will hire again in the future.

I hired Petre for some kitchen cabinet rebuild and tile work. He was a professional from the very beginning and was always informing on what was going to accomplish each day. He showed up on time and had all the tools and knowledge to complete the work. His team was also very professional and they all worked very clean. I will definitely recommend him and will hire him again for my next project.

Ken installed two (2) barn doors from my master bedroom to the bathroom. He did an amazing job. The installation entailed some tricky measurements and exact sizing. The job was done exceptionally well and the doors look great. I would hire Ken again and plan on using him on future projects.

This is a reference for Lloyd “Skip” Clements. Over the past 10 years, Skip has done many projects at our house, large and small, from replacing some doors to totally remodeling a bathroom. Here are a few qualities we really appreciate about Skip: • Dependable – Skip reviews the project with us, describing what he’s going to do, how long it will take, and a ballpark estimate of the cost. We can rely on Skip’s description being true for the end result. • Trustworthy – Sometimes we haven’t been able to be home when Skip’s been working here. We’ve felt secure in leaving him with a key to our house. He’s just an honest guy, with high personal values. • Superior Craftsmanship – The bottom line is the end result. Skip consistently exceeds our expectations. We’ve been amazed at how he has total command over the structure of our house. We asked him to replace a wall-mounted medicine cabinet with an inset cabinet. When he opened up the wall, we discovered that the studs weren’t in the right position to install the cabinet centered above the sink. No problem, Skip cut some stud sections and rearranged the configuration inside the wall so that the wall remained strong and the cabinet could be securely mounted in just the right position. Then he did some magic with spackle and paint around the cabinet, and when he was done it all looked like original construction – perfect! With Skip Clements, you can be sure that the job will be done right, on time, and on budget! Steven & Carolyn Pollock

THE BEST! They delivered a top-quality product in a timely manner (even through Hurricane Irma) with all the expertise and professionalism you'd expect. They were able to take my vision for a more functional bathroom, and my daughter's vision for a fun teenage bedroom, and bring them to reality with creative craftsmanship and a determination to please their customer. Most ideal, everything was built in the shop so installation and upset to my home was all of an hour! I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a job done right!

These guys are great and are welcome back at my home anytime. They did the best job ever. They took the time to fix all the cabinets in my kitchen. They were on time and they cleaned after they work. They also stayed late to finish all the work necessary for the day. They also made sure that I was completely satisfied with everything before they finished and got paid. You will not be disappointed if you hire this company.

Extensive upgrade to kitchen and guest bathroom started with demolition. Additionally, apartment walls were repaired then painted. Bathroom was gutted, tub and tile were resurfaced, new vanity was built and installed, new tile flooring installed, new recessed lighting installed. 50 year old kitchen cabinets were refaced outside ( wood veneer on surface which was then painted) new cabinet doors with hidden hinges installed and updated hardware added. Formica counter tops were replaced with quartz. New cabinets built to enclose washer/dryer, now made "invisible". Lots more done and all within a very aggressive time-frame. Transformation of both kitchen and bathroom was dramatic. Overall, great work at a great price by people who were very pleasant to deal with. Also, very important to me, they provided a detailed proposal with line-by-line pricing. I was able to add or remove any lines I chose before committing. No hidden costs added at end. I will be using them again in the very near future.

I hired Gemco USA because someone else recommended Bill and because of their reviews. They just finished a project remodeling my master bathroom and upgrading my kitchen. Like everything about construction, the process is overwhelming, but Bill did a great job. The workers are good, specially Rogelio, courteous, and respectful. Bill has a master in construction management, and he can guide you on your home renovations. I recommend Gemco USA for your home projects. October 13/2015

We performed a major interior renovation - full kitchen, bath, floors, laundry room, front door - to our home in Miami over a 6-month time frame. The company's work was exceptional. Ariel worked closely with us throughout the outset of the project. He brought new ideas that really helped us realize our vision. His crew (in particular Neri) showed up every day, on time, and completed the job in a timely manner. They were very accommodating despite a few surprises in electrical and plumbing, working overtime to meet the project timelines. We're so happy with our home and there's not one thing we would change. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ariel and crew without hesitation for a renovation or new home build.

I would ABSOLUTELY 100% recommend Eddye. My wife and me worked with Eddye in our kitchen cabinets and countertops and this is amazing. We hit a few bumps in the road along the way, so he gave me excellent advice about how to best get the job done, even though it meant I would not be hiring him. He were very accommodating and everything went in perfectly. We had until that replaced a door that come with scratch on it. He came back in 2 days for install it, His prices were great and we are more than happy with our new kitchen.

Mark was a pleasure to work with. He always responded to questions quickly and comprehensively. He did an excellent job constructing and installing our new display cabinet. These were not typical cabinets, as they needed a complex arrangement of pathways through which the electrical wires from our collectibles could pass and be hidden. Mark did a great job of following the plans and everything came out exactly as expected. The cabinets look great and were built just as expected. We would definitely recommend and use Mark again!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Do you tip cabinet installers?

In general, home service providers such as electricians, plumbers and contractors are professionals who don’t expect tips. They expect to do a job for you for the specific price they quoted. Of course, they may appreciate a tip for a job particularly well done or for which they’ve gone beyond what’s normally expected, such as completing the project early or under budget. Even better than a tip, it’s always appropriate to leave a positive review online after a good experience.

How much is custom cabinetry?

Custom cabinets can be built for any room, including bedroom closets and built-in armoires. Measured carefully and built precisely, custom cabinetry can increase storage and beautify any room. The national average for building custom cabinets ranges from $500 to $1,200 per linear foot. The cost is highly variable because there are so many styles, colors, glazes and other options. In general, the linear footage of the cabinets, the materials used to build them, and the cost of the labor will determine the cost. Solid wood costs more than plywood and wood veneer, and costs vary among different types of wood; maple and cherry cabinets are more expensive than pine. Glass-front cabinets can cost more, as can decorative hinges, handles and door pulls, which can cost $2-$45 each; choose carefully to stay within your budget and pull off the exact look you’re going for. Some carpenters also charge for installation, on average $100 per cabinet box. Additional molding and trim, such as crown molding at the ceiling, cost an average of $70 per 8-foot section, and adding finished ends to exposed cabinets averages $100-$200.

How much does it cost to have kitchen cabinets installed?

In any kitchen, the cabinets are the main focus, so you want to make sure new or replacement cabinets are installed correctly. A professional carpenter can properly, securely mount new cabinets to the wall; the national average cost for this service is $7,725, although the cost varies widely depending on the type of cabinets, their material and their size, and the accessories you add. A typical fee is $70 per linear foot to remove existing cabinets and assemble and install new ones; the cost is less if you do the demolition and removal yourself. Stock cabinets are the least expensive to have installed, ranging from $75 to $400 each; semi-custom cabinets range from $150 to $900 each; and custom cabinets cost from $500 to $1,400 each. Wood cabinets are more expensive than those made from plywood or medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and finished with a laminate. Wood cabinets range in cost from $80 to $160 per linear foot. Laminate-finished cabinets cost $35 to $75 per linear foot, on average.
