FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
yes, I do. In order for me to keep updated with my certification, I have to. I am also in the process of getting into university again to get my masters in Dietetics and Nutrition.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been part of sports, teams, exercise and the fitness world. Once I got done with volleyball season in college I got bored as being just a student. I decided to pick a new sport to do on my own, and I did triathlon training for the first time for a race. My first race that I compete I won every category that I could have won, but I did not win my time. I was still very happy. After that, I decided to study for a personal training certification to apply the knowledge to myself and to improve my training techniques. Since I was always part of a team and doing sports, I know a lot of high level training techniques, but what I was missing was knowing how to work with the special population (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, zero fitness level..) and that is what I got my certification focused on.
