Musical style(s)
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I find I have a genuine love for teaching people how to express themselves musically. It is very fulfilling for me to watch someone discover the magic of making music. A lot of guitar teachers seem to have a factory approach to giving lessons. I cater to each of my students according to their musical tastes and their personal goals. That would most definitely watching each student take that step to the next level as they improve, and how excited they get when they experience that.

STEVE IS A GREAT INSTRUCTOR. HE IS PATIENT,KIND AND VERY ENCOURAGING.HE HAS A WAY ABOUT HIM THAT CAN LIFT YOUR SPIRITS WHEN YOU THINK YOU CAN'T EVER LEARN TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT.HE IS A WONDERFUL MUSICIAN AND KNOWS EACH INSTRUMENT HE TEACHES VERY WELL. I AM TAKING BANJO LESSONS AND I AM NOT A YOUNG PERSON. HE REASURED ME THAT I WAS NOT TOO OLD TO LEARN AND HE IS RIGHT. I AM LEARNING THE BANJO AND SO VERY HAPPY I CHOSE STEVE AS MY INSTRUCTOR.I COULDN'T HAVE MADE A BETTER DECISION.I'VE BEEN TAKING LESSONS ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND MAKING PROGRESS.I HAVE FAITH IN STEVE AND KNOW I WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE.

Steve has been teaching me mandolin for 5 months. He is a great teacher, using a variety of different exercises to improve strength, accuracy, timing, and right/left hand technique. His lessons are always well-prepared, goal-oriented, challenging, and varied enough so there is never a dull moment! I would highly recommend Steve to anybody (newbie or experienced) wanting to improve their musicianship.

Steve, is the best guitar teacher I've ever had. He goes that extra mile to make sure you understand what he has just taught you and makes it a great experience. I can't say enough about him

Steve is a very good and extremely patient teacher. As much as I may dislike learning theory, Steve knows how to bring it all together so that it makes sense...like a light bulb suddenly switched on in my head. All those pieces put together suddenly become songs I recognize. I highly recommend Steve to anyone wanting to learn from a very personable teacher.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have played the guitar since I was 12 years old. It has always been there for me to express myself and let my stress out in the tough times. It doesnt solve your problems but it gives you that release of tension that renews you. I decided about 15 years ago to start giving back, and helping people get the same magic that I get from playing music.I then started teaching. I now teach guitar, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin, and feel blessed to have my students grow from my efforts.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find a teacher that cares. Not just someone filling a time slot on a schedule. We are out here....you just have to take the time to look

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Just because you know how to play the guitar, even if its very well, does NOT make you a good teacher. A good teacher needs patience, and have the ability to read their students comprehension of the lessons, and make sure they understand and are comfortable with it. Oh, and did I mention patience as well!?
