WE met Gary in 2004 when my son started taking drum lessons from him at age 9...Not only did Gary and Dylan connected immediately (which was a huge relief for this Mom who had tried every sport in trying to find that ONE passion or interest that my kid would pursue), Gary challenged him to practice good form and timing at all times. He also helped him realize that if he wanted to be a good drummer, learning all genres of percussion was the key to longevity if he were to consider a career in the music industry. Well, my son took lessons with Gary through middle and high school years, having opportunities to play in jazz, orchestra and concert bands----in his 20's now, he continues to play on a regular basis with a passion that began with those first lessons with Gary Rowe, hoping to make it somehow in the music business.......And, did I mention how much fun it is to occasionally get the chance to hear and watch Gary play! WOW!

Gary is teaching my 12 year old to be a percussionist . His attention to detail and compassion are extremely commendable . He takes a great deal of interest in his students and their skills ,,, developing them accordingly .

I start them from the very beginning. Unless they are already experienced.

Yes, I work out with other pro drummers. Read Modern Drummer faithfully for new ideas and equipment.
