My son is 12 years old and he is taking saxophone lessons with John Tracy. He is thriving and is already better than anyone else in his band class. My son enjoys working with John. I personally have played clarinet for over 30 years and can clearly tell that John really knows what he is doing.

Rafael is like a grandfather to me. He allows me to call him if I have any questions and introduced me to a lot of new cellists to listen to. Rafael has been very understanding of my schedule as a full-time student and we meet at the most convenient time for me. His books and lessons always brighten my day and I always learn something new. He believes in his students and their talent, I couldn't ask for a better teacher.

My son has been taking cello lessons from Julia for the last two months, and we are very pleased with her level of professionalism and how much our son has learned so far. Her attention to detail in helping with his technique and posture has been so helpful. Julia is also friendly and approachable, and she does not push too hard. Our son has progressed a great deal since he started taking lessons with Julia and we look forward to him continuing to learn from her.

Eduard is the best cello teacher I ever had. He is grounded in basic techniques which is excellent for the beginner as well as the advanced student. I always felt that he had the time to teach and that he had a personal interest in my development. We used the Practice Planner and he always wrote copious notes for me to follow and I have found this helpful in that I can go back months and review a certain technique. He is also inspiring in that he is an Excellent cellist and I have attended a number of his recitals. He is very professional.

I began learning to play the cello with Gonca about ten years ago while in high school. She started me off learning the Suzuki method. She provided ample feedback and experienced advice on the nuances of performing during my learning, which is difficult to find in other experienced performers. Whenever I reached an impasse in my practices she would provide me with alternative studies to break through those difficulties. She strives to teach more than just the ability to play, but to cultivate the maturity to become a superb performer. Though it has been a few years since I moved away and had the pleasure to study under Gonca Huff, I am always thinking back to her instruction on every new musical challenge.

I'm an adult beginner and I have regular online lessons with Hallie. She is amazing! I have so much confidence due to her encouragement and have learnt so much more than when I was trying to learn on my own.

Mark was very accommodating and I liked the way he taught the music. He was honest and kept his appointments. Even though he taught a lot of children his approached still worked well for me.

    About

A lot of music teachers only focus on technique and theory. And a lot of teachers just show people how to play songs. We show individuals how to do both. Having fun playing songs and knowing technique and theory are equally important, because if you just learn songs, you'll only know how to do that and not really know how to play an instrument. While technique and theory are important, it can be boring and frustrating to focus primarily on that. At New Tampa Music Lessons, we balance musicianship and fun by making sure that with each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
