FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Normally, I charge 10 dollars an hour if payment is cash, and 15 if payment is a check. If a client needs many sessions, ten or more, I offer a free hour for every 10 hours. If I need to travel to a difficult location, I will add an additional fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first discover what the pet owner wants from the experience. The goals of that client are the most important thing. I do not believe in having a set program. The training program will be different for each customer. I am very sensitive to what they perceive to be problems. I also take into account that I need to make training work around their job, their family, their living situation and any limitations they may have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take classes, I read up on different techniques. My goal is to one day attend the Karen Pryor school. But quite honestly, the dogs teach me so much. I have always had a policy of only adopting unadoptable dogs. I take the ones that fail out of adoption programs as they have severe behavior issues. Those dogs teach me volumes. I have been trained to be a trainer, but honestly, the problem dogs that I personally adopted taught me so very much.
