Latest Review: We are a military family with five children. We have had many piano teacher and years of lessons. It wasn't until we met Miss Darcy that our children made any musical progress. She is the perfect mixture of fun and professional. My boys now play the piano beautifully and people are always asking, "WHERE did they learn to play so well?". Miss Darcy is truly talented and if you have the honor of having her teach piano lessons to you or your children you will count it one of the best decisions of your life.

Latest Review: Daryl has brought music to our entire family. My daughters, 10 and 8, are well on their way to a lifelong love of piano. You can't say that about most kids their age and piano lessons. They play classical and pop, sing and most of all have fun. My wife, a high school clarinetist, like most of us put it down after high school. She now seranades us to sleep at night with Midnight Sonata, a piece Daryl has worked her through. One year ago, she couldn't play Heart and Soul. Myself, an over the hill 70's rocker, picked my guitar back up and Daryl has me not only playing again, but this time actually understanding what I am doing! Only other 70 rockers can appreciate this :) I highly recommend anyone to invite Daryl into their family like he has become a part of ours. John Price

Latest Review: I'm a senior citizen and, from the very first lesson, Cheryl's honesty, patience, and extensive musical expertise immediately put me at ease. Her command of the piano music repertoire, her developed technique and her sincere desire to help her students learn truly motivated me. Her approach to teaching has equipped me with musical insights and guidance that I shall continue to use daily, and into the future.

About: Hello! My name is Jared Starr and I have a passion for teaching the violin, viola, cello, and piano. When I teach students, I strive to shape them not only as musicians, but as overall people. Whether a student is young or old, music lessons can benefit them in a variety of ways. As a musician, they will develop a keener musical ear, the ability to read music at different levels, the aptitude to perform for groups of people, a strong sense of rhythm, effective practice techniques, and an overall love for the therapeutic influence music has. As a person, they will develop discipline in achieving goals, self-motivation, consistent vigilance in developing new skills, and the chance to explore their own personal creativity. From my own experience, music has not only brought happiness to my life, but has helped me excel in all of my endeavors educationally and occupationally. My Education and Experience My education as a musician and teacher has been vast. I currently hold a Doctorate and Master's degree from Florida State University and a Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University both in violin performance. My teaching experience includes teaching positions at Florida State University, Brigham Young University, and the Montgomery Music Project in Alabama. I have also developed private studios in Florida, Alabama, Utah, and Kansas since I was a freshman in high school. In all of my teaching locations, my students have significantly varied in age and ability. I have taught children as young as four years old and adults as old as 65. Among my students, I have taught levels ranging from beginning Suzuki lessons to music majors playing solo Bach and major concertos. Hence, I have discovered the importance of teaching every student a bit differently depending on their personality, level, work ethic, and overall goals as a violinist. Lesson Rates Private lessons take place at my studio at my home in the Camelia Gardens town home community in Tallahassee on a weekly basis at with rates at $25 per half hour lesson and $50 per hour lesson. I require payment at the beginning of the month for the entire month of lessons to ensure that students are committed to lessons that month.
