Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: There are hundreds of cabinet makers that claim to make "custom cabinets" but installing cabinets and playing around with crown molding or fancy trim they just bought from a millwork company isn't custom work. Custom work is when you throw away all standards and let the customer tell you what he/she wants you to make. Instead of buying a corner make a corner at your shop and incorporate a secret compartment. Have a full column that looks like a column and feels like a column but hides a special feature. Whenever you the customer asks: " can you add a special trim here?" and the cabinet maker says yes, ask if they are going to make the actual trim or buy it?. If they're buying it, more than likely they are also buying the cabinets. Don't get me wrong, wood is wood here and anywhere else in the world. But I will never grab a brush and compare myself to Michelangelo.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We'll sit with you and completely help you get all your ideas down on paper. We'll take all of your ideas, from a drawing to reality and install the custom kitchen or bath cabinets of your dreams. See our website: www.jacobscabinets.com for details. We work with the plumbers, electricians and general construction contractors, ours or yours, so that your project can go as smoothly as possible.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Go through our website: www.jacobscabinets.com and you will find information on quality of woods we use for doors and cabinet boxes. How cabinets are built & why we build them so strong. You will learn the pros and cons of different materials. You will leave my site knowing a lot more than many cabinet makers. Information I offer freely whether you decide to work with us or choose to go elsewhere. When you meet with your cabinet maker use your gut instinct and ask yourself: Did he answer all my questions and does my gut instinct tell me he is passionate enough to install my cabinets in his house.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Those of us in this business really do work hard. Cabinet making is not a nice cushy job, a lot of sweat and tears go into making good quality cabinets.
