- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a fee of $55 for the performance of a basic legal service. I've created several ceremonies, secular and Christian, to make the basic legal ceremony softer and more meaningful. $90 is the fee for a ceremony that is written to tell the couple's unique story. This includes the original composition, revisions as requested and the performance of the ceremony.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ideally, I like to have a conversation with both partners to get acquainted. Since time may be limited and distance often great, I've created a simple questionnaire to gather information and help the couple identify what's important. When creating their ceremony it's important to know what they want; it's their wedding, their way. I can then begin crafting the words that will be the beginning of their married life. They will review the ceremony, make any additions or corrections and finally give their ok. On the day of the wedding, I will arrive at the time they prefer, examine the license (required) and speak the words that will make them legally married! I can also perform the basic ceremony required by Florida statute with no additional customization if that's their preference.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a writer most of my life. Through the years I have taken many courses and participate in writer's groups. I am ordained as a minister. My life has been based on viewing all people as equals, with no religious, racial or gender biases.
