Throughout my life I played all sorts of sports and practiced 4 different types of Martial Arts. Safe to say I considered myself to be athletic. However, just before moving to Florida I let myself get out of shape pretty badly. After working with various personal trainers, attending different Martial Arts training gyms and doing my own workouts, I felt as if I had plateaued and was getting nowhere. I would push myself to my limits (or so I thought) and still nothing. I knew Steve from previously working with him (in an office setting). Just in conversation one day, I spoke to him about how I felt that no matter what I tried I was not seeing any more results. He offered to be my workout partner and see what we could accomplish. “WOW!!!” is all I could say to the results. Steve’s attention to the details and the motivation he provided pushed me beyond those limits I thought I had. Needless to say, I am back in “fighting” shape thanks to the help that Steve provided me. I’m 5’7” 178 pounds of strong, lean, fast twitch muscle. I’m not a bulky guy but my strength, cardio and overall stamina are through the roof. Steve, if you are reading this, you are not just a trainer and friend, but a mentor as well, “THANK YOU”!

I’ve been working with John Bruno for several months. I started with mixed martial arts training and became quite impressed with his MMA skills, his fitness knowledge and his patience to work with me - I know I’m not the easiest person to educate, especially those times when I don’t quickly catch on to exactly what I need to do. Because I liked his expertise with the MMA, I also started working with Bruno for strength and conditioning. I like that he can explain which muscle groups I’m working, as well as explaining which groups that can be injured if the exercise is not performed properly. Bruno will correct my form so I’m not in a position to injure myself. He’s also identified equipment that could be potentially harmful. I can see he’s quite dedicated and passionate in what he does and I trust that he will train me safely while pushing me to my full potential for me to reach my fitness goals.

I have been studying Martial arts at Sifu Och Wing Chun for about a year now and can sincerely say it has not been a year wasted. The instructors and Sifu himself always make themselves available for questions, corrections, and encouragement. I have noticed my skills and confidence grow with each passing month and continue to look forward to the journey as I myself hope to one day become a Sifu in my own right. Love this school and everyone in it

EJ has trained me an many others in fitness and in Martial Arts for many years, and is a great motivator in both areas. Some of us get too old for S&ME of it with continuous injuries, but you will not get a better trainer anywhere that EJ and his team. I truly miss them all.

Such an inspiring story of transformation. The passion of his studies are apparent and he passes on the wisdom of the arts he trains in. Not just a tutorial experience. Don't kid yourself either, QiGong will give you that BURN too.

There are very few people out there I would trust more in any of these specialties than Dale Dugas. His knowledge and passion for the martial arts, as well as the downstream TCM applications, has been long standing and proven time and time again. I use Dale as a MA resource, as well as for his herbal formulas and training products, and have nothing but 100% success rate and satisfaction in my dealings with him. If you're considering doing anything in these areas, please, for your own benefit, call Dale and talk to him. He is a rare resource, always makes himself available, and is guaranteed to shoot you straight. Plain and simple, this is your guy.

I had very little time and no previous martial arts experience. Dan, co-owner of Burg Fitness, tailored a custom self-defense training session including the psychology of assaults, how to detect, defuse an attack and how to defend myself if physically confronted. I feel better now about being able to keep myself safe while traveling alone around the US and internationally. His gym also offers kickboxing, spin and TRX classes, and personal fitness training. I recommend checking them out!

I am pleased to comment on Jack Harris as a Tai Chi instructor. I studied with Jack in two one hour sessions each week for one year at the Vanderbilt Dayani Center for Health & Wellness in Nashville, TN. This was my first introduction to Tai Chi. Jack is very knowledgeable about the various forms of Tai Chi, as well as other martial arts. Our sessions were focused on the needs of persons in their sixties or older or with special health issues. We used the 24 Form Simplied version. Jack noted that Tai Chi had three elements that he tried to address equally: health, martial, and art. As for health, he stressed that we should only do what our bodies were comfortable doing; he made each person in the class at ease with his or her level of activity. As for the martial aspects, he pointed out the martial arts origin of each of the tai chi forms, not for us to learn the martial arts, but rather so that we might better understand the correct body movements. I found this not only interesting, but also helpful in learning the forms. The arts were incorporated into the grace he helped us development in the movement of our hands and arms and the rest of the body. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have studied with Jack. He is reliable, has a good sense of humor, and is sensitive to the physical and psychological needs of each person in the group.

I have been a fan of martial arts since i was a wee lad. For my entire life i came to realize that most places you join are sink or swim. The instructor leaves you alone with barely any instruction and its up too you. Untill i found tampa bay wing chun. I met sihing garret and was greeted by everyone genuinely. The instructor takes the time to ensure your learning properly. Its a place i would call safe and fun. The atmosphere is one of a kind and the level of instruction is off the charts. If you want a kind, genuine and inviting studio. With an instructor who will teach you true self defense and go the extra mile then tampa bay wing chun is where you need to be.

      About

Aikido training is about challenging yourself, not the other. You will develop confidence by facing your fears, and negative fighting spirit will become creative fighting spirit. The stress and pressure of serious Aikido training brings this spirit to the surface, exposing it, so that it can be examined and refined in a controlled atmosphere of respect and mutual study. Discovering your physical limitations will cause you to reflect on the deepest meanings of harmony and conflict, and to strive for a level of consciousness above the selfish ego, closer to a universal consciousness. You will learn to defend yourself, and to protect yourself and others. You will begin to gain a deeper confidence and bring the mind, body and spirit into a greater balance. Aikido is ideal for someone who would like to learn to defend oneself without crippling his/her attacker. The essence of Aikido is spiritual, finding and creating harmony with oneself and others. You will be training in a traditional yet laid-back space, where everyone is respectful towards your well-being and skill level. The people you will train with are some the nicest, welcoming people you will ever meet. Enjoy your first class on the house! Come practice an art that is rooted in thousands of years of Japanese mastery.
