FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use a value based design fee which includes conceptual design, drawings, scope of work and, budgeting. We then charge a percentage of the net cost for purchase management and procurement of products (FF&E) and services for our clients. Every project and scope of work is different; call today to request an estimate. I offer other services like: Interior and exterior color consultation for two rooms (stars at $396/package); Revamp and rejuvenate for one room ($776/package); Improve and redecorate for three rooms ($1,584/package). Call me or email me for more details.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After designing for commercial and residential clients over two decades, I have found that a simple process works best. I have a simple four step process which allows our clients to sit back over the course of the their project and trust our team to execute, while still maintaining approvals on overall budget and style. STEP 1: PROGRAM After you fill out our Lifestyle questionnaire I'll review it and set-up an initial phone consultation where the project scope is determined, the project budget is established, mutual expectations are discussed and, in-home/business appointment is scheduled. At the in home/business visit I further assess your needs, contract is signed and retainer is collected and, design option presentation date is scheduled. STEP 2: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT-The magic happens! I return to my design studio and workroom to design your space. Finishes, window treatments, furniture, colors and styles are selected. Options are grouped and tailored to your unique needs. After 4 weeks we'll meet again and I'll present design options, digital samples and swatches. Pricing and budget are reviewed; you chose your concept; full payment is collected. STEP 3: IMPLEMENTATION/ORCHESTRATION-Your designer brings it all together! Products and services are ordered. orders are carefully monitored; warranties and samples are compiled; products are inspected; installation is scheduled. STEP 4: REVEAL- You are wowed by the big reveal! Enjoy white glove delivery service. I set the stage; your space is revealed. Proceed to next phase if aplicable. We know that a design project can be overwhelming, confusing, intimidating and time-consuming. With our full service turn-key interior design service you can be assured that we will be there to oversee your project from start to finish—from concept to installation. We are committed to help you make the right decisions every step of the way and create a smooth process. We believe that it is crucial to listen to our clients and take into consideration everything that matters when making decisions to make sure that the design process is fun and enjoyable for everyone involved. We go above and beyond to make sure that we have a collaborative relationship with open dialogue that will facilitate effective solutions and produce the end results expected.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an Interior Architect graduated from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and have attended Harvard Graduate School of Design for professional advanced certificates. I am an Allied member for ASID, AIA and IIDA since 1990. I am constantly taking CEU classes to learn about new codes and trends affecting our industry, as well as new products to share with my clients. In fact, I'm attending another CEU next week given by SWFContract to learn about new products and trends in commercial window treatments.
