Andy's Instruction and Musical Services

Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have learned how to gain results as quickly as possible. You still have to put in the time; now, my specialty is in helping you get as much out of that time as possible. In the more than forty-five years since I taught my first lesson, I have learned much about how people of all ages learn music (and I'm still learning myself). That's the difference between someone with forty-five years experience as opposed to one year of experience forty-five times. I love seeing people having fun by pushing past their frustrations and making the music they want to make.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

In terms of instrument teaching, the only two variables in my pricing system are in-person versus online.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Always. I take courses and diverse training programs to improve every aspect of my craft. That's the difference between having forty years of experience and one year of experience forty times.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

First of all, your prospective teacher should know how to specify different positions based on the size and characteristics of your fingers. He should know something about ergonomics (my techniques and exercises have been verified by a physical therapy specialist). Bad stringed-instrument playing techniques can hurt you, so you need to know you're trusting yourself to someone who understands this. Next, you should make sure the teacher shows competence in the area you're interested in, and that the teacher can relate to you. You also want someone who is constantly learning.
