About
Hello! My name is David Santacruz. I am a Certified Personal trainer (ACSM) and Exercise Physiologist (ACSM). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am passionate about helping my students discover how to improve their mobility and balance for them to live stronger longer. Your goals may include but are not limited to: 1. Improved Mobility 2. Improved balance 3. Muscle/strength gain 4. Improve Posture 5. Reduced Pain 6. Fat Loss 7. Nutrition Guidance 8. Improved Metabolism 9. Improved stamina 10. Make you harder to hurt both in life as well as on the playing field. We will discover which movements are appropriate for you to do in a program that I will develop as our collaboration continues. It's not my intent to destroy you or make you feel weak, as it's more valuable to learn to move better with progressively more difficulty or more weight. During your sessions, in addition to training, we may also discuss habits that align with your goals, assignments I have given you, and topics related to your fitness goals. I will also be asking questions about your life to see how I can best adjust your training to your lifestyle. I was debating for a while whether or not to hire a personal trainer to help me reach my fitness goals. After our first session, I felt confident and motivated! David is awesome with communication, motivates me every session, and is informative with the different workouts we try each time. He personalizes each workout to make sure you’re comfortable and answers any questions you may have. I don’t feel that “gym-timidation” working out. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, which I appreciate. Honestly I didn’t think I would see results so soon. But thanks to David and his expertise, I’m incredibly satisfied with my progress so far! I absolutely recommend David! I’m seeing fantastic results and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. If you’re on the fence of whether or not to hire a personal trainer, David is your guy hands down.

Thank you for the kind words Phillip. I can't thank you enough for allowing me to help and develop as a trainer. Exercise is not an absolute antidote to lack of confidence, but it is certainly a strong factor in general mental improvement. It's funny how weight training with "good form" has you in positions where you're standing tall or in "power poses", and adding strength and muscle gains into the mix serves as an awesome impetus towards boosting your confidence!

During sessions, I will go into a brief anatomy lesson with my students when necessary. It's useful to give my students an understanding of what muscles they are trying to target and give them a better picture of what we're trying to accomplish to develop the muscles. This will not only improve the students' understanding of how their body works, but additionally allow us to have better communication about the process of exercise.
