- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2002 I graduated with an associates degree which allowed me to become a state licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Since graduating I worked in a number of clinical settings as a therapist, and with patients who had a wide range of conditions, injuries and surgeries. In 2007 I went back to school and got a Bachelors degree in Sport and Exercise Science, graduating in 2009 as well as my certification as an exercise physiologist thru the American College of Sports Medicine. In 2012 I started BodyGrades, which is my strength, conditioning and performance coaching business and have been providing my services thru ever since. And, as of the time of this writing I am preparing to take the exam for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
`I was drawn to the aches, pains and injuries prevention part of it after dealing with a few injuries from sports and being active, myself. And after I learned more about how to have more energy and about being healthy, I was then drawn to the fitness side.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of individuals, from the high school athletes where I coach track and teach movement mechanics to the middle aged who wants to be health but limited by pain to the older population who wants to stay as active as possible, to those who have never exercised before.
