Lacking compentencies or knowledge skills and abilities (KSA) that one has in order to perform the duties of that position. If you send a generic resume to different companies it needs to have competences that are critical in that industry/position. Nothing worse than being rejected by a computer. 2. Typos also show lack of attention to detail. Even if you have a great resume. We all make mistakes but a resume is not a place to misspell 'achieve' as 'acheive'. It is important to have someone else take a glance. 3. Changing careers highlighting skills that have nothing to do with the new role. It is important to highlight transferable skills. You can do a short bullet list of transferable skills. ~~~~~~MY EXPERIENCE~~~~~~~ My experience comes from having worked as an HR Consultant, conducting Job Analysis, hiring assessment work for a well known Talent and Development Organization.
