About

I work with the problems of the dog world - the anxious, shut down, aggressive, fearful, or just plain naughty. I am passionate about bringing happiness and freedom to the mindsets of the people and animals I work with. It gives me energy and joy to see a previously shut down dog decide to take a step in the direction of being the fun loving pup they were designed to be, or seeing an aggressive dog surrender their need to control and play with other dogs as nature designed them to. Often this means their people have to take steps for themselves and learn in the process, and i certainly learn from every client and every dog myself, so the entire system of Terra Paws is built on joy, nature, and self-actualization.

Mandy was a lifesaver! We were so frustrated with our furry family member, because we didn't know how to effectively communicate what we wanted from him in a way that he would understand. In just one session we learned enough to take charge, and with her helpful translations, we noticed positive results by literally the next day.

Knowing what we know now, I feel very confident that by the time summer rolls around, our dog Hawkeye will be well behaved enough that people might ask if he's a service animal or not. That's how quickly we're getting results. I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again in a heartbeat if we wanted to work on a certain skill or trick but didn't know how to start the process or if we got frustrated with the lack of progress. It was less about dog training and more about training us how to "talk" to him.

Do not hesitate to hire her! She will do everything in her power to help you achieve what you want and find a way to make it fun in the process!

Details: 2 - 10 years old • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • Private lessons • General obedience training • Leash pulling • Biting • Destructive behavior • At the pro’s location • My home, venue, etc.

Mandy has been working with our family and three dogs for over a year and is our top find on Thumbtack to-date. There aren't enough words to describe how happy we are with the progress our dogs continually make with her training. Our initial inquiry was for help on leash training and since our third dog was a Labrador puppy, we quickly found ourselves in over our heads. She is quick to offer helpful advice and our dogs love every time she comes over - even when she makes them do things that "suck" (like behave around the feisty kitty). She includes the family in any training session we like and is flexible with requests for new behaviors or trick training.

Details: 3 dogs or more • 0 - 1 years old • 2 - 10 years old • Small (16 - 25 lbs) • Medium (26 - 40 lbs) • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • 30 minutes (standard) • Prefer a private walk for my dog(s) alone • My home, venue, etc.

Very knowledgable and patient. Helped me with guidance in what steps I need to do. Gave me hope that my dog will be able to be trusted and can be re-trained to behave properly with humans and other dogs of any size.

Amanda got us off to a great start with our new puppy! We are using what we learned from her, and each day we see improvements. She helped us understand how to read our dogs body language, and how to calmly be leaders. She and her pack were so fun to learn and work with. She connected well with our teenage son as well. I'm so thankful we found such a great trainer!
