Emma took care of our house and our dog while out of town. She is reliable and responsible, we couldn't have been more pleased. Our dog was very content staying in her own home and not being boarded. She is just great!!!

We had a "reactor," who made the class setting challenging for Cynthia, no doubt. But she responded so well to Chester, always offering him positive encouragement. And the same to me. All the times I got frustrated and thought about giving up, Cynthia was there to encourage me and help ME keep going. (You see, it's not always about the dog.) Chester is a fine gentleman and a happy addition to this home. I know neither would have been possible without Cynthia's help.

Madyson went above and beyond. She was very trustworthy, and I will hire her again to care for our beagle!

I am just an individual who loves dogs. I have three of my own. I am looking for a fun and simple job. I would love to walk an owner's dogs.

It is a everyday thing multiple times a day, and we love dogs any size and breed!!

We will walk your dog(s) to suit your needs. If you go out of town, we can come to your house and feed, water, and walk your dog(s) on the schedule that you request. We are specializing in the Marietta, Woodstock, and Canton areas.

I have been pet sitting for over ten years and have been a dog trainer for five years. I have a strong passion for animals and work as a pet nutrition consultant. I have four dogs of my own, all miniature dachshunds, which are my absolute loves! I bring them to field trails, agility, therapy work, etc., and they just love it. I have worked with multiple breeds of dogs in the past as well as cats. I also have experience with small animals, reptiles and fish. I am comfortable giving medications also.

I love all dogs, period. I own two dogs of my own and consider them my "babies". I treat all dogs in my custody as if they were mine. They'll get all the love and care that I can offer. I want to make sure that my clients and their owners are completely satisfied.

I believe that my works stands out from others because of my level of education and hands on experience. I spent 4 1/2 years at Berry College obtaining a Pre-Vet degree and a minor in Chemistry. I was fortunate enough to have hands on laboratories every week. I am Pet CPR/First Aid certified. So I can provide the latest and safest way to care for your pet

I come and pick up your loved one and take them for walk. I will run with them; play with them; but most of all, while in my care, I will give them lots and lots of TLC.

I love animals and just enjoy taking dogs for walks. I love walking myself and I know dogs enjoy it too. Nobody likes to be kept up all day.

I do housecleaning. I am friendly and efficient and will do any cleaning that you need done. I also walk dogs or cats.

I offer pet sitting, dog walking (the dog and I can get some excercise) and light grooming: bathing, brush outs, nail trims, blow dries. I am a very loyal animal lover. I have experience working in boarding facilities, dog training, and animal hospitals and also having my own pet sitting business for 11 years and counting. Taking care of animals is my passion and I love doing it. I am currently going to be a foster mom hopefully soon. I want to give animals/dogs my unconditional love and help them. I have such a big heart for animals! I am very trust worthy and straight forward when it comes to the fur kids

I am a mom who is trying to survive. I clean, cook, walk animals, house sit and do lawn work. My husband can do just about anything. We also remove unwanted items for you. We are honest people with references.

I need work experience of any kind. I can do a variety of things, including art, dog walking, dog sitting, babysitting, etc.

I am unique and one of a kind! I work harder than anyone I know. I am a true animal lover, not just a sitter.

We provide private basic to advanced obedience for canines. We have trained several pet therapy dogs that have passed special screenings to allow them into medical settings to visit patients. We also provide private doggie day care in the city of Chattanooga on our two fenced-in acres, as well as house calls up to a 30-mile radius of Chattanooga.

I am great with animals. I have always taken care of them like my children. I could use the exercise to walk as often as needed.

I am kind to animals, and I love dogs! I LOVE walking as much as my customers do!! That is, dogs need lots of exercise and I LOVE walking and running around with them! I am an RN and I have found this to be a very rewarding way to both exercise, and help out man's best friend! I have never, ever lost a dog or have had any injuries! Knock on wood!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

  • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
  • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
  • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
  • What are your different walk routes?
  • When will you pick up and drop off?
  • How will we communicate?
  • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
  • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
  • How and how often do I pay you?
  • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
