We hired Kelly as our wedding day florist and she turned out to be more of our coordinator. She is a pleasure to work with! Easy going, understanding and just wants to make sure you are happy and relaxed. Her services are reasonably priced. She will work with you to stay within budget. If you're like me and didn't come up with a budget, she'll work with you on making sure your final costs is a number you are comfortable with. She is very resourceful! Our wedding day had one minor hiccup (as to be expected at any wedding - something will go wrong). Overall, I will not let that take away from us saying just how pleased and lucky we were to have Kelly as our wedding coordinator - a VERY BIG THANK YOU TO YOU! I will definitely rehire Kelly for future events. I don't have any pictures of her decorations just yet. Just one of us eating lol

Donna was great throughout our entire wedding planning process. She was very personable and seemed as excited as we were about our wedding. While we initially hired her to provide the flowers, we asked her one week before the wedding to provide her coordinating services, as well. Even with such short notice she was willing to step in and ensure that our day would go on without any problems! This was no easy task, as we had a double wedding (leaving Donna with double the people and opinions to work with). She never complained, and everyone was thrilled with her work. Additionally, she always responded to our emails within 24 hours and was willing to take phone calls whenever we requested. Her experience and pleasant attitude gave us peace of mind on one of the biggest days of our lives. We really can’t say enough about how great she is. We wholeheartedly recommend working with her!

Cheri has been an amazing wedding planner. She has made sure that all the pieces are coming together and has been a part of everything...which is great for me, someone who has no idea how to plan an event. Cheri also is such a gracious, kind, sweet and hilarious person. It is truly a joy to have her expertise!

Carl did a great job for the wedding reception. It didn't take long to get all the family and guests on the dance floor. If anything, it would have been difficult to get them off the dance floor. Moon Door Entertainment made all the difference. Book Moon Door Entertainment as soon as you can.

I contacted Raise Your Glass Events when I discovered, contrary to what I was led to believe, little to nothing had been done toward planning our son's wedding. It was less than 30 days until the wedding and I was freaking out! I feared I was asking the impossible to pull off a nice event given our timeframe. That's when Raise Your Glass Events took over. Josh Stiles was on top of everything! He took what little he had to work with from us and worked his magic. My son's wedding was a beautiful success! Josh, Paige and the rest of the staff arranged everything from linens to decorations and everything in between, relieving my stress level considerably! I appreciated the quick and always friendly responses to my questions, and the courteous calls I would receive just to see how things were going with me! On the wedding day, Josh and his staff arrived professionally dressed and ready to work! Chandler took care of coaching the wedding party on when to walk and where to stand, which was so helpful. We enjoyed working with them all day. I was frequently asked if I was happy with the way things were going. Thanks to them, we were able to relax and enjoy the day. I could go on and on singing their praises! All and all, I found Josh and his staff at Raise Your Glass Events to be professional, friendly, organized, very accessible, and knowledgeable. They worked hard from the moment they were hired until the moment they left our venue when it was all over. I highly recommend Raise Your Glass Events for your wedding planning needs! I'm sure glad I found them!

About

We are really a nurturing and open minded company who wants who places a high value on respecting our couples and their families for the unique individuals they are. We are very nonjudgmental and accepting so if you are a couple who is narrow-minded, bridezilla-ish not considerate of others, or simply do not place a high value on having a beautiful well-orchestrated wedding day then we would not be a good fit. We’re quite selective in who we work with because we believe mutual understanding, respect, and connection is so important. Most wedding vendors work together with the couple in the last few weeks prior to the wedding day , not two months or more before hand like us. We begin building a partnership with our couples from day one and then from there we begin to develop relationships with your chosen vendors two months prior to your wedding day. We are not just booking a wedding we invest in our clients.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

  • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
  • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
  • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
  • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
