I have been using Peter & Carol's pet grooming and pet boarding services for my 10 year old Schnauzer, Oreo, for almost 4 years. Peter groomed Oreo 3 or 4 times a year. He cut his hair to a high standard and was absolutely professional in being able to deliver exactly what we requested. Oreo is always happy to see Peter and much prefers staying with him and Carol as opposed to being sent to the kennels. He was always well fed and exercised and I was always happy to leave him there confident in the knowledge he would be well looked after, when we went away on holiday. Peter and Carole enjoyed a good reputation in Discovery Bay and we are extremely sorry to see them leave us. They are a nice couple who provided us and our beloved pets with excellent service. I have no hesitation in recommending them. I can be contacted at djghk@hotmail.com.

Jack was the best groomer by far I've ever taken my dog too. My dog is very afraid of grooming and Jack put him at ease. He really made it a positive experience for my dog. He also trimmed my bunny's nails, and he was able to put my bunny at ease as well. The other ladies who were there were also very nice, and they have a lot of good dog products.

Bri did an excellent job. She was very professional. I especially appreciated her talking the time to familiarize herself with my puppy before proceeding to groom him. After the grooming he was not shaking and fearful (this was his first groom), yet he was jovial and playful. Thank God she cut his nails down perfectly, because he was slicing me. The experience was worthwhile and I intend to be a repeat customer.

Jen is a wonderful groomer who loves her job. She takes care of Leah every 5 weeks. Leah was nervous her first few grooms but after Jen helped her become comfortable with the grooming process she is an angel now! Her hair cuts are always even and Leah is never kept all day. I would totally recommend Jen to others.

WaggyWalks ATL Pet Services is a great for my two dogs! I have a Dachshund and Great Dane. With my busy schedule I am gone about half of the month. It is necessary I have a well trusted person to watch my pups. Cierra has been able to watch them every single time I needed her to, which is often. She gets the dogs out several times a day for walks and even bakes them homemade dog treats. My girls come back looking healthier and more radiant. I thank her for all she has done to keep my dogs happy while I am away working. I miss them while I am gone but I know they’re having fun and in good hands. I would highly recommend WaggyWalks ATL to anyone looking to have their dogs cared for. FIVE STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    About

Hey everyone, my name's Kerah, and I am a professional pet sitter. With two years of experience watching and caring for animals in local animal shelters, I decided to branch out to individuals homes and make life a bit easier for most people by caring for their pet while they're away at work, family vacation, etc. If you're like me and do not like the thought of having your animal being put in boarding, which could become very expensive, but your mostly paying for your beloved pet to be put into a cage for most of their day while your away. With my service your pet is promised a loving and caring person that will care for the pet all day within the freedom of their own home to run and play as you never left. Proven fact have shown pets are most relaxed and less stressed out when kept at their home will owner is away. Shelters and boarding is very stressful for the animal, and I know this from experience in volunteering at a animal shelter for 2 years. Do you pet a favor, and let someone care for them while you are away. My services include: -Walking mornings evenings, and before bedtime -Feeding routines as you prefer how you pet should be fed -Scooping of all messes that dog will make in yard -Doggy Baths (no cat baths) -Guarantee cleanliness of house contained through out my whole visitation -Endless amount of fun and care for your pet How I offer services is by consulting with client and arranging a meet and greet with the pet that I will be sitting. This will ensure your pet is in good hands and also I will be evaluating the behavior and size of animal to get a good calculation of the cost. After a agreement for me to watch you pet has been made, I will report to your house and care for your pet while you are away. I do two types of sitting, Overnight and Daily: Overnight: I will be caring for your animal while you are away for a number of days. The price for these services are charged per night and prices could vary depending on the behavior of the pet, for example if the pet is showing signs of aggression and dominance. Any additional time after 12:00p.m., the day of my extraction, will be charged a additional night. Cats: $30 for 1 cat, and additional $3 for each additional cat Dogs:$50 for 1 dog, and additional $5 for each additional dog Horses: $100 for 1 horse, and additional $20 for additional horses (PLEASE CALL FOR PETS NOT MENTIONED BIRDS, RODDENTS,ECT.) Daily: I will report to your house the days you need me to and preform the duties of caring for your animal. My service price will be based on the number of hours. Depending on behavior of animal, for instance if the animal was showing signs of aggression and dominance, the price may vary. Cats: $3 for 1 cat, $1 for each additional cat Dogs:$5 for 1 dog, $ 3 for each additional dog Horses: $12 for 1 horse, $5 for each additional horse (PLEASE CALL FOR PETS NOT MENTIONED BIRDS, RODDENTS, ECT.) My animals are my passion and I feel they are my calling in life. I treat animals the way I would want to be treated, which is nothing you love, compassion, and care. Your pet will be in perfect care and will abide by any extra needs for you pet if it incudes medicine that needs to be taken at a certain time of day or if your pet has disabilities of any kind and needs to be handled carefully. Please give me a call to set a appointment for a consultation meet and greet for me and the pet. Please, please, please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions. By phone is the best way to contact me.

    About

I have been fervent about animals since I was a mere child, and this love for animals has grown over the years. I have had three dogs over the years. Therefore, I am able to provide the same amount of love and care for your dog as I do it for my own pets. My comprehension of the needs of pets especially those of dogs is outstanding. From feeding them food with the right nutrients to walking them, I know it all. Moreover, I possess a knowledge of vaccination schedules; therefore, I would be able to effectively manage the appointments with the vet.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is included in a dog grooming?

Dog grooming is so much more than giving your dog a bath. Dog grooming is a broad term that covers all aspects of canine cleanliness and hygiene. The services included in dog grooming will vary based on your needs and what you choose to pay. Unless they are rolling in cowpies or playing in mud puddles, most dogs are okay getting a shampoo bath only as needed. You’ll know when they need it if they smell bad or are bringing dirt into the house. Some dogs, like shepherds and shih tzus, have thick coats that can get matted and tangled without regular care. Pro dog groomers can deftly blow dry a dog’s hair after a bath so that it is shiny and smooth. Dog grooming can include brushing that detangles dog hair and also thins the undercoat to minimize shedding.

Dog grooming also includes hygiene services such as toothbrushing and ear cleaning. Clean teeth are important to the health of your dog, and the pros have the patience and proper technique to get it done. Regular dog grooming can stave off tear stains, those reddish stains below your dog’s eyes. Anal gland expression is something not many people want to do on their own, even if they love their dog. A dog groomer can safely and efficiently release any blocked anal gland fluid. Other dog grooming services include nail trimming and clipping. Nationally, dog grooming prices range from $60 to $80. Most dog groomers offer discounts to customers who purchase monthly packages or bundle multiple grooming services at one time.

Do cats have to get groomed?

It’s not crazy to have your cat groomed. Grooming will keep your cat’s fur soft and silky as well as give you early warning about any health concerns. Regular grooming can also help reduce the volume of hair your cat may be shedding and keep your longhair kitty cool if you live in a warm climate. Professionals competently groom your cat and are trained to manage them if they resist being groomed, while you may get scratched doing the same task. The national average price for cat grooming is $50-$70. Pet grooming prices may vary based on the task. For example, a bath and brush for shorthair cats may be $15, $20 for medium-hair cats, and $25 for a longhair. Cat groomers can also keep your cat’s ears cleaned, trim their nails, and provide haircuts if needed. Average prices for haircuts can vary from $30 to $95 or more, depending on whether the cat is shy or aggressive and whether their coat is in good condition, matted, or otherwise difficult to groom.

    What is a dog groomer?

A dog groomer is a service professional who provides dog grooming and basic hygiene care for your dog. Dog groomers are typically animal lovers who are competent and comfortable working with a wide range of dog breeds and temperaments. Dog groomers are knowledgeable about the care needs for different kinds of dog coats. A poodle will have different haircut needs than a shih tzu, for example, so it pays to have a trained pro provide the proper cut. Good dog groomers know how to safely clean your dog’s teeth, bathe your dog, and cut their nails without going too short. They understand how to trim the hair from around your dog’s face, express anal glands, and clean your dog’s ears. Many people who choose dog grooming as a profession also pursue other dog services such as attending veterinary school, running a doggy day care center, working as a professional dog walker, and more.

    What is a dog groomer?

Keep your family dogs happy, healthy and clean with regular dog grooming. A dog groomer is a business owner or employee of a dog grooming business who specializes in dog hygiene and grooming. To find a reputable dog groomer, research reviews, ask for references and confirm that the groomer has good standing in the dog grooming community.

A dog groomer should be comfortable and competent working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Typically a groomer will have trained with other groomers and taken educational courses to keep abreast of the latest safety information and techniques. There are brick-and-mortar dog grooming businesses, as well as mobile dog groomers who bring all their equipment and provide their services at your home or location. In some cases, brick-and-mortar businesses will also pick up and return your dog for an additional fee.

How much should cat grooming cost?

Keeping your cat groomed is an important part of maintaining their good health. The national average cost for cat grooming ranges between $50 and $70, with prices varying based on where you live and the services you request. Your cat’s temperament can also affect grooming prices. Scratching and hissing during a groomer visit can raise rates an average of $5-$10, or more, as hazard pay. Larger cats and long-haired cats that take longer to groom will also usually cost more. Here are some examples of cat grooming average costs:

    • Shave down or lion cut: $35-$60. These cuts preserve the hair around the face and tip of the tail but shave down the entire body. The lion cut is often recommended for extremely matted hair is exceedingly matted, for extreme heat, or for cats who are suffering from hairballs.
    • Ear cleaning and nail trim: $30.
    • Nail trim: $10-$15.
    • Bath and nail trim: $45.
    • Bath and sanitary trim: $55. A sanitary trim clips the hair on a cat’s behind to prevent fecal matting in longhair cats or cats that have mobility issues.
    • Bath, blow-dry, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning: $40.
    • Full haircut, bath, and nail trim: $45-$95, depending on matting.
