- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a designer/builder who listens to you , what you love and need....not lip service. Your goal is to pay a professional to give you exactly what you want for the money. Please don't get lost in the brag or promises...look at the portfolio, call their referrals and see how their project went, check out their credentials, licenses and insurance. You want a wonderful project experience with a caring professional, you are trusting them with one of your biggest assets.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I hear "What a great job, you get to spend other peoples money" ....Well no, not exactly. To be a trusted professional designer, it is alot of work, thought, detail and did I say detail? I wish customers could have a behind the scenes look to see all of the lugging of fabric books, furniture deliveries, accessory installation and placement and drawings. Oh, that's the beginning , remember the labor to create the perfect window panel, furniture coming in perfect and no damage in shipping etc. etc. Its alot of work, BUT I love it and it's all worth it when another beautiful room is created.
