Andrew responded quickly to my post about a broken dryer and was able to come out same day. He isolated the problem quickly and even hosed out the machine to prevent future problems. He didn't have the part I needed so he came back first thing the next morning after the part store opened. I was very impressed with the whole experience and would absolutely recommend him for appliance repair.

Stephen and Jeff came and picked up a chest that needed repair. They took it, repaired the problem and returned it to my house a week later. They did a great job and were courteous and professional. I would recommend for a furniture repair/refinish project.

I could not be happier with my service. First I have got to say both Thumbtack and Appliance Repair Solution of Atlanta were great. I stumbled upon Thumbtack trying to find companies that service and repair dryers. Thumbtack of course led me to Appliance Repair Solution of Atlanta and I will certainly use them for future service and repairs. They schedule the service fast, got to my house at the earliest part of the estimated time, fixed my issue quickly, put the area back together quickly, and even better is I felt like I underpaid for the service. Thank you again to Thumbtack and Appliance Repair Solution of Atlanta!!!

Appliance EMT responded almost immediately to my project posting, and scheduled a mutually agreeable time for the following morning. Bobby, the technician, called (as promised) before he came and arrived on time. After an examination of my refrigerator's problem, he diagnosed it quickly, went over the fee of charges, and had the problem fixed in about an hour. I am very happy with their service, and have scheduled additional work to be done on other appliances.

Arrived early. Was ready to go. Did a great job. Even though this job was plumbing/appliance oriented, I'll be calling him for many different projects in the future.

Alex responded quickly and arrived at my elderly Mom's house the same day. He ordered a part and came back to install it. After spending hours working on the appliance and installing the part he concluded that the refrigerator was beyond repair. He refused payment and returned the part at no charge. That's an honest professional. We will call him first the next time we need an appliance repaired.

Mr. Taylor was kind, on time, and very knowledgeable, he had been here for a dishwasher repair prior to the refrigerator complaint, so I was happy that the warranty company sent him again. We would use him without a warranty contract for our appliance needs.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

      • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
      • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
      • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

      How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
