She's great, responsive, helpful, she doesn't teach whatever music she wants to she lets the children choose the genre of interest even if it's Disney songs.
I have really enjoyed taking lessons at Cordell Music so far. He has a good syllabus and the lessons build on one another in an understandable way.
Taking violin lessons (and now viola) with Paige. It's been a much better experience for me than my first time trying to learn violin. I appreciate that she's willing to adapt her lessons to my own goals and also select music that is actually pleasing to listen to even for an absolute beginner. As some other reviews mentioned, she's also very quick to reply to any messages.
I am of 'advanced maternal age' and it was quite a leap to attempt a life long dream of playing the piano. I didn't know where to begin so I googled Piano Teachers in my area. It was my great fortune to sign up with Teal Justice. She approached each student individually (I eavesdrop while waiting for my lesson to begin), teaching the youngsters to read music, place hands properly and adds theory and history to her lesson. As an older student, I could care less about theory ~ I just want to play...under her guidance, I have advanced through two books in less than a year and have taken on a third for my own enjoyment.
Every review says as much about the person reviewing as it does the business reviewed. Olga is a conscientious and professional piano and voice teacher and I highly recommend her. A bad review is telegraphing that the person writing it has specific things that set them off. Sometimes these are fair and then the review reads as sensible. Typing a bad review in ALL CAPS is not sensible. The person comes across as obnoxious and at best, as fussy when focused on things most people consider unfair, like free lessons. Unless it is someone who shares the same issue, when someone like that writes a bad review the only person he or she is pushing away is someone LIKE THEM. So in that respect, they're doing the place a favor because they are aborting another bad review. Most of us read multiple reviews and can sort the rational voices from the angry ones. I am a parent of two boys and I have to say that $20 for quality one-on-one (private) 30 minute music lessons is too cheap. This is especially true if the teacher has several university degrees. Yes Olga gives us a discounted rate for my younger son but I do not expect her to teach for free. I am yet to see a teacher giving a $20 private lesson and free lesson for the 2nd child. To do it once perhaps, but that deal would be too good to be true to sustain long term. Not only would the teacher soon go out of business but it is unfair to the parents who are paying a higher but fair rate. In this day and age that is not a fair price for a qualified music teacher. However, $20 for a group lesson of 4 or 5 kids would make sense. My boys were able to read notes from their first piano lesson and are able to interpret a piece of music. Their lessons include scales, arpeggios, classic pieces, aural testing, sight reading and music theory. She is currently preparing my eldest son for the grade 1 Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Exam. I can say she has gone above and beyond what previous piano teachers have delivered, even extending the lesson time by 5 or 10 minutes if needed. She was more focused on my boys understanding the concept than anything else. In fact and she spaced our lessons so they do not overlap giving me ample time to discuss any concerns. Our experience has been that we get more than what we pay for at each lesson. No one should have to work for free. The effort Olga makes in teaching our boys correct finger posture, rhythm and theory is incredible. She is great with kids and I could not ask for a better teacher.
Voice lessons with Elideusa are wonderful! She is so patient and encouraging. I gained a solid understanding of vocal anatomy and technique.
I believe that learning to play songs and learning an instrument, although related, are different in many respects. I was interested in learning the piano and music theory as well and Soo Jin has the educational background and teaching experience to meet my expectations. My first lesson with her was excellent and I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting a a pleasant person to work with who has a thorough knowledge of the instrument and music. There was just the right amount of critique and motivation mixed in to inspire me to practice!!
Justin is very clearly a very talented guitarist with an eclectic repertoire and a knack for distilling a wide range of concepts into a simple form that is very easy to absorb at any skill level. Studying with Justin has opened me up to new kinds of music and concepts that may have taken me years to gain exposure to otherwise, but he's also able to understand and connect with the type of music I want to play in order to help me reach my personal goals. He's also very laid back, easy to work with, and pleasant. Highly recommended.
Nora has been the best piano teacher for me. Being in my late sixties, I wanted to learn at my pace without pressure but at the same stretching me to see what I can do like playing in front of an audience. She has been patient and kind. I am learning and enjoying playing the piano.Nora gives good instruction and is very organized. I've enjoyed our lessons very much. She is knowledgeable about music, loves it and stays in touch with other teachers and groups. She has been the best teacher for me. Thanks Nora!
I have been taking lessons from Brock for about a year. One of my students and I actually started together. She is 4 and I'm 34. I was nervous about employing someone to teach an adult and a child. I feel like usually people are good at one or the other. However, Brock does not teach music, he teaches people. He does a wonderful job of making his students feel comfortable and learning them. He adjusts to each individual and teaches the individual, however, they learn. -Britton Pierce
Mr Emmanuel is an incredible teacher. He works on really strengthening the vocal cords which allow the voice to develop not only in strength but also in range as well. I was formally trained in voice so I know what he is doing is the best way of training a voice. He has been working with my daughter and I am hearing a difference in her voice. Her voice is becoming stronger and her range is wider. With his help preparing her, she just did her first audition and succeeded at it making it into a musical troupe. His love of music really shows in his teaching and his ability to correct in a positive way so the student feels encouraged is unique. My daughter comes away from her lessons feeling good, encouraged that she can do more and excited to practice, all due to his attitude and teaching ability. I would highly recommend him. He is the best!
My son has been receiving piano lessons for @ 1 month. His teacher, Ben Phillips, is great. The lessons are fun and easy going, and he really looks forward to the evenings that he has lessons. I don't even have to bug him to practice. It has been great!
He is exceptionally knowledgeable (music theory, composers, meter, music history, etc) and easy to work with. He is very patient and has a great sense of humor. Excellent formal training for any type of music. He takes the time to explain to me what he expects and illustrate if necessary including pronunciation, cadence/rhythm, etc. He is able to present what he is teaching in more than one way which is the sign of a superb teacher. Sets reasonable goals and lets you know how well you are doing. Yes, I have "homework", exercises ad music both. I can read music; however, he is superb for teaching the novice who doesn't know anything about music.
We've met Mrs. Amy for the first time in 2009, I was looking for a piano teacher for my son. He was 8 and he never played any instrument before, I wasn't event sure he would have liked piano. They had a connection from the beginning. Mrs. Amy is extremely professional, demanding, but also gentle, very passionate and a sweet woman. She doesn't like wasting time, but she always found the time during class to talk with my son about his day, without compromising productivity. My son started with a 30 minutes class and the amount of progresses he made was incredible for a such short amount of time. After a couple of years, I signed him up for an hour long class, with the approval of the teacher. We doubled the time of learning and my son always told me that time was flying. He grew with her, the bond between this wonderful teacher and my son was amazing, based on respect, desire to learn, complicity, and yes, fun. My son is 13yo now, he loves playing piano and he's also playing trumpet in the school's band. Unfortunately we moved out of GA otherwise we would have never stopped piano lessons with Mrs. Amy. Great woman, great teacher, we've been blessed to find such a great person. I definitely recommend her for any kid, or teen who wants to start loving music and piano. Samuela
My 3 children have been taking piano and voice lessons from Elite Music for over 10 years. They are now teenagers and gifted musicians. They are professional, affordable and convenient. I am so grateful for finding Elite Music!
We have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Myrna for almost 6 years as the piano teacher of our two daughters. Our oldest daughter (currently 9 years old) has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Myrna since she was 4 and our youngest daughter (currently 6) since she was 5. Ms. Myrna’s passion for music is only surpassed by her passion to teach children of all ages the piano. As a piano teacher, she molds her lessons to the level of each individual student making every piano lesson a pleasing learning experience in a warm musical environment that each student can happily embrace. Our experience with Ms. Myrna over the years has been one in which we have grown to appreciate music so much more through the fingers of our children playing the piano. Ms. Myrna takes the time to know each child and their personalities. She is insightful of a child’s feelings and emotions and uses that to channel her piano lessons. It’s not unusual to see children that have taken piano lessons with Ms. Myrna to have to say 'so long', only because the student is now headed to college to start a new chapter in his/her life. Above all, Ms. Myrna is a positive influence that helps keep our children well-grounded and focused on the path of success. We love Ms. Myrna and if you are reading this and considering Ms. Myrna to be your or your child's piano teacher....GO for it. You won't regret it.
Every student is different, so teaching everyone the same way does not work. I use individual approach to teaching music. Choosing a right repertoire for students is important; sometimes it requires modification/simplification of the piece which I do. Recitals inspire students to work hard and be proud of what they have accomplished. I throw two recitals a year.
I have always held that music reaches all people from different paths of life. The act of reading and working through a piece alongside another passionate teacher gives further guidance in understanding the true love and respect in learning about a musical instrument. I always offer tremendous support and patience with all levels of playing and help my students discover proper techniques to eventually teach themselves to remain disciplined in practicing, setting realistic but challenging goals, and a wide variety of playing styles to become a well rounded pianist or vocalist.
My services are significantly cheaper than most people trying to give lessons and my hours are a lot more flexible than most. In addition, I can teach a variety of stringed instruments and have extensive knowledge on music theory.
