Carlos did some repair work and painting job on my house. Initially he was fine and I started giving him more and more work for repairs around the house and painting. Finally, he quoted me to paint the whole house, which I agreed with and gave him the go-ahead with me having to buy the paint. This is where he started to become a little greedy and had me buy more and more paint. He started taking advantage of my trust in him, which I did not realize until later. He then told me that he finished all the paint work, and demanded that I pay him in full, which I did against my better judgement! There were a few more touch-ups that he needed to do but he promised that he'd come back within a week to complete the job. In the meantime, I started checking his paint work, and found that he did not even paint any of the trim or around the windows of the whole house. When I ,mentioned this to him, he wouldn't deny it, and knew he didn't live up to his end of the bargain. Weeks turned into months, but he kept giving me excuses on why he wasn't able to come. Initially, he told me he was hurt at another job and had to be hospitalized, then his truck was in the shop, and then umpteen other excuses on why he couldn't come. At this point, I have started to realize that he wasn't coming . He basically took advantage of my trust in him as well as the sensitivity I showed towards his speech challenges. Although I hate to say it, Carlos clearly lied to me (Yes, he is a liar!) on what he completed and his sense of business has amounted to fraud as he already took my money but did not complete the job! I would be very careful in hiring this person for any job!! Hope Thumbtack takes notice of this person's business dealings with his customers. I would rate this person less than a star if possible!!

When I discussed the paint job with him, I said that I wanted all nail holes and imperfections in the walls taken care of. I also asked that walls be sanded before they were painted. All he did was come in and paint the trim and walls over existing paint. He did a good job on painting, but it was not what we agreed on.
