Dalowe is a moving machine. Why rent a truck when you can have Lowe handle the entire process. Great customer service, will follow your directions and get the job done in a timely manner, prompt service and the best price in town. I will use this company again. Lowe moved items to my home, took items to recycle center. made sure I was completely satisfied with the job. Have a Load, Call Lowe!

This is my second time moving with Taggabox, and I'm still super pleased. I love the ease of using the stackable plastic boxes. This time we also used the bellhop mover service, and we're very happy we did. The guys busted their buns and service was phenomenal!!

It was a small local move from an apartment, the guys got everything moved with no damage. They were late because they got lost - it happens. They worked in a timely fashion. Let me put it this way - we are moving again in 4 months and we will use this company again for sure.

We are extremely happy with this service provider! Justin and Alex were wonderful! We were moving our 93 year old mom and they were so caring and went over and beyond to make sure it all went very well for her and us. The crew were on time and excellent! We will be using bell hops as our main moving and heavy lifting company for now on! Thank you!

Tony provided great work and his rate was very reasonable. He assembled a lot of Ikea furniture for my daughter who was moving into a house. The other roommates parents ended up hiring him for their projects also. He did a great job and was very professional and nice. Would highly recommend, and we will be using him again.

Ronnie and his team are ultimate professionals. They moved my 4 bedroom house in one day. Ronnie estimated two 26ft trucks and a trailer and we used every bit of space. His team worked hard all day without taking a lot of breaks. I think having Ronnie (owner) at every job helps keep the team motivated. After our move, Ronnie told me that he will come back the next day to help move a refrigerator and washer/dryer back to my old house. True to his word, he came back the next day. This speaks a lot about his character. Few things I've learned with this move: 1. Break down beds and other furniture ahead of time 2. Have all the small items boxed up ahead of time 3. Pick and choose which items should be wrapped with blankets or shrink wrap and which items can be left un-wrapped. I highly recommend Aikens Moving. I wish them much success in the future.

We asked AK Logistics to help us move a large bedroom suit from the seller's 2nd floor bedroom to our 2nd floor bedroom a few miles away, and also to move around and remove some other pieces of furniture from our 2nd floor. They were running a bit late from their previous move, but they were responsive to texts and kept us informed of their arrival time. They were very careful to wrap each piece before moving it, but they also worked very efficiently and with great attitudes! We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

The guys were great! We had a somewhat difficult move today (moving from two apartments on different floors), but the crew was very accommodating. Brandon, the supervisor, was friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. Unloading was the quickest part. I was surprised with how fast it was done with only two men. Hire these guys. They did an awesome job and I'd recommend them to anyone.

From the very start, I was pleased with the professionalism of the owner of Pack N Move, Richard. He contacted me quickly and responded to all emails in a short time period. I expressed my concerns about his company moving a heavy, king-size mirrored bedroom set and he assured me that his team would wrap it carefully and handle it with care. I could tell from his attitude that he took pride in his company and I felt certain that I was selecting the right movers. And I was right. On moving day, the guys he sent, Indigo and Ricky were punctual. They not only wrapped the bedroom set, but also wrapped every piece of furniture for added protection. I didn't have to give them any instructions because they knew what they were doing. Richard stayed in touch with me over the phone throughout the move, checking to make sure that everything was running smoothly and to my satisfaction. Indigo and Ricky were fast, hard working, and never stopped to take a break. I highly recommend Pack N Move to anyone who wants courteous and caring professionals handling their cherished possessions.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.
