About this pro

Integrity. I believe integrity is an important quality to have if you are a massage therapist. My clients trust my judgement and trust my recommendations. Of greatest concern to me is the client's true need. I don't push my clients to receive more therapy than they need or prescribe massage when not needed. I like that I am doing something that makes people happier and healthier. I like caring for people. That is why I chose to learn Lomi Lomi and Hot stone massage. They are very personalized forms of massage which makes the client feel wonderful.

Q & A

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I traveled to Hawaii last summer to learn Lomi Lomi, a traditional Hawaiian style of massage which has a lot in common with Neuromuscular therapy. It is broad and deep and effective. I plan to study prenatal massage this Spring so that I can bring relief to pregnant moms.
  • How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always gave massages to my family members as a way to give when I did not have other means to give. I learned some techniques from a Japanese student in college and used them on family and friends. It seemed fitting and appropriate to me to study massage formally so that I could do what I already loved doing. It is a great way of giving.
  • What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients prefer to spend the majority of the time allotted on shoulders, neck and back. Most people who work at a computer or sit at a desk have forward shoulder and forward neck posture. The majority of the pain is focused on the neck as a result of this posture. I preform a lot of Shiatsu on the back because it is a great way of releasing toxins and relaxing the whole body while providing moderate to deep therapeutic pain.
