Introduction: Folks are intimidated to ask questions, especially in a class setting. It is my goal to make individuals comfortable to ask so they get the answers and upgrade their skills. Custom video tutorials can be made specific to their projects so they can watch and review that skill that may be needed only once a year. (I have made a mail merge tutorial for myself my Christmas letter because Christmas comes only once a year!) In addition, tutoring can be done remotely via an internet connection to share the screen. So quick questions can get quick answers I enjoy learning new skills on the computer and get excited to let folks know what they, too, can do on the computer!

Recently I called Nancy Olsen of Tutor You. I have a five page document that I was preparing for my email subscribers. I had always used Word 2003 but I had to use my new work computer with Word 2007 in order to save my document as a PDF. I dont know Word 2007 and it was a challenge for me because the program is so different. Nancy showed me how to install Zoom to my computer and I was amazed at how easy Zoom was to use. Once we were connected, I selected only my five page document for her to seeshe could not see anything else on my computer. I did authorize to allow her to share control of the document. I could see the changes she was making to my document and she could see the changes I was making to the document. She pointed her cursor where I needed to learn something new for my document. We got my document formatted exactly the way I wanted it and it didnt take very long. I found that Nancy can quickly help you complete your project so its exactly the way you want to look. I highly recommend Nancy Olsen of Tutor You. I didnt have to leave my house and neither did she. We had scheduled our appointment a day ahead of time, sent emails confirming we were both available, and then got on Zoom. It was a very pleasant experience to finally have my project completed exactly the way I wanted.

I heard the term computer tutor and I thought that is EXACTLY what I want to do! I love helping folks with their computer skills.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't be afraid to ask. Folks can be very intimidated about the computer, but training pays off in savings: financial, time and less frustration.
