Eizabeth has been great with my son. He has a very hard time concentrating for any length of time, but Elizabeth gets his attention and keeps it. We are very pleased with these tutoring sessions.

My son has only had one session with Mr. Armstrong but it was a very positive experience. My son felt much better about the material he was studying and said Mr. Armstrong made it seem easier. Mr. Armstrong followed up with us multiple times after the tutoring session and emailed us additional tools to help my son prepare for an upcoming test. We plan to continue using Mr. Armstrong to help my son in math. (I could not give 5 Stars since we have only had one session, but I would give 4.5 Stars).

*Educator, Academic Support, & Individualized Learning Specialist* With my experiences as an educator, I have gained a passion for helping others succeed in their personal journeys. I have particular interests in the area of adolescent psychology and development, and I enjoy utilizing a variety of methods to create unique learning environments. I have maintained a personal teaching philosophy, based on theories of Dr. Maria Montessori, Cooperative learning methods, Orton-Gillingham, and cross-curricular, experiential, and Project-Based Learning, and I strive to create a mutually-respectful, reflective environment that all students find welcoming and inviting. In addition to adolescent education, I am also interested in working with students with language-learning differences, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. In my experiences as an educator & academic administrator, I was able to combine my knowledge and skills in psychology and education to help develop and grow a new school for a very unique population of students. I gained a tremendous amount of authentic experience in a diagnostic and prescriptive academic approach to provide a nurturing, compassionate learning environment that met the academic, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of the students on an individualized basis.

I am currently an upcoming senior at North Cobb High School. As part of the International Magnet Program at NCHS, I have taken many rigorous courses, including several AP classes that I feel qualify me as a tutor. While this is not a professional business, I take education extremely seriously and can help students improve their grades in varying subjects, including math, science, history and English.

I use an individualized approach to tutoring that addresses the needs of the specific needs of the student. As opposed to a one size fits all model, I get to know my students learning styles. I identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and then I develop a learning plan customized to the specific needs of the student. I follow through with parents and student to ensure our work is effective, and I work to meet the ongoing needs of the student.

I do legal and medical interpretation and transcription for state courts and attorneys, and medical patients. I also tutor college and high school students in Spanish/English, Math (learning support up to pre-calculus), Geology, Environmental Science, History(American/World), Geography, Sociology, and Art Appreciation/History. I have 16 years of experience as a professional bilingual with a degree in foreign language. I have been interpreting for more than five years professionally and tutoring for GA Perimeter College, and privately, for more than three years. In my work as a tutor, I find that usually with a little instruction on how to study, as well as thorough practice and interaction with the topic of study, students advance quickly and achieve far more than initially thought possible. So, take the first step and contact me, and we will work together in attaining your goals.

About

At 16 years old in high school, I was already CPR certified, with a Certified Nurses Assistant license and a Medical Office Assistant license. In addition, I also was the only person In a class of 30 students to pass my Medical Terminology exam! I completed A CTAE pathway for nursing my junior year of HS. Also during my Junior year in HS, I was ahead of all my other peers and decided to take two sciences instead of one, and one of those being a senior dominated class, and ended up having one of the top 3 averages in the class despite being a Junior... aka the youngest. I also took AP Biology and AP statistics. In the AP Statistics class alone, my grade was a 100 with the 5 bonus points you get for being AP (so basically a 95) and I am actually a Math Major at Kennesaw, aspiring to be a Statistician. As you can see, school is a strong suit for me and if your child is not understanding a subject or a concept in school, I would LOVE to help them grasp that concept and not just "know' it, But fully understand it. So here are my options $15/hour for elementary ... $20/hour for Middle School through High School. If this is not in your price range but you still want your child to succeed please shoot me a message and we can make other arrangements. IF YOU ARE MILITARY, FD, PD, NURSE, HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEE, OR EMT/PARAMEDIC PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! I can come to your residence, Meet at a location of your choosing, or you can bring your child to me at the KSU library where the resources are endless! ***5th Grade and Under- ALL SUBJECTS (yes, even common core) ***Middle School- Social Studies, History, Algebra, Literature, geometry, and Earth science (I can also do biology, it is just not my strongest subject.) ***High School- Literature, Algebra, Trig, Pre-Calculus, Honors Pre calc, american government, American History, Physical Science, Anatomy, Economics, Statistics, and AP Statistics (my personal favorite) **** If you do not see the subject your child needs please do not hesitate to ask me if I can do it too. The ones listed above are just my my strongest subjects, however if you chose to have me tutor your child in a subject not listed... I will go above and beyond to research that subject, learn about it and hopefully be able to help your child understand it. I know this was long but if you took the time to read it thank you. I just hope to make an impact in the minds of our future.
