Thank you Tania for your excellent service in cleaning my home. My home was total mess as I could not get it cleaned up for few months. She have worked really hard for cleaning everything. She helped me in disposing off my trash bags and few cartons as well. She ensured to check with me if I was satisfied with the cleaning. My refrigerator was also bad inside as several things were spilled up. She have thoroughly cleaned it up. I would definitely recommend her.

Kim was very helpful and knowledgeable. She offered a lot of really good suggestions; most of which we will be applying as we move forward. The consultation fee was well worth the money, but the staging and furniture rental fee was way more than I anticipated. I was expecting something comparable to what they charge on different HGTV shows. ( $3000 for the whole house, inside and outdoor areas)

So far my project is beyond my expectations! Keri is very professional. I love her timeliness and consistency! I always have a certain fear in doing projects like this were I am dependent on someone else, because of past experiences. But Keri has been phenomenal, she is open to my ideas, if something doesn't work for me she doesn't hesitate to find something more my style. We have more to do over the next month or so but I have no doubt it will meet my expectations. I had family visit and even they was please with how well the home is coming together!

A friend of mine referred me to Elsie when I mentioned I was going to sell my home. After she did her home staging, I sold my house within a few weeks later. She went through each room and noticed what needed tweeking to make it look better. she rearranged certain objects to make the areas appear bigger and more open. I was very satisfied with the way she organized the closets, kitchen, and garage especially. I will hire her again for organizing my new place! great website! Thanks Thumbtack too!

I worked with Bushra from Belegant Homes on a project earlier this year, to remodel my 3 bedroom home. Busha was very professional. Everything she did she explained clearly at the beginning, leaving no room for surprises or confusion, which allowed us to establish trust in our new relationship. She listened attentively to my needs (no matter how picky I was) and in the end she delivered a design package that I was overjoyed with. I really appreciated how transparent the process was. I highly recommend Belegant Homes and will definitely use them again for any future design needs. Malikah Stevens

I would recommend share home staging to all of my friends after a great experience with this company. We had our intire home stage for a quick sale and they did it and did it well. Prior to them coming out our house had been on the market for 4 months and after the staging we got a contract immediately. This company was very easy to work with and very accommodating. Most of all they provided a service that was worth every penny. You will not be sorry if you hired this company. Thank you Sheer home Staging.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does it mean to stage a home?

Home staging is the real estate strategy of decorating your home to be as marketable as possible to your target demographic. Home staging is done by interior decorators and other design pros hired by the homeowner or realtor, prior to putting a house on the market. Think of it as setting the stage for potential buyers to fall more easily in love with their future homes — and to spend top dollar to get them. It’s likely to be worth the investment: The Real Estate Staging Association reports that staged homes spend 90 percent less time on the market than those that are not staged. Home stagers can also be hired even if you’re not going anywhere. Stagers can consult on new layouts for your current home, much like an interior decorator.

Home staging can take place while you still occupy the house you plan to sell, or when the home is vacant. For an occupied home, the home stager will clear out clutter, rearrange furniture, and bring in decor and furniture as needed to create the perfect environment. Usually an occupied home has far too much of the current owner’s personality stamped on it, which makes it hard for prospective buyers to envision themselves living there. A home stager should neutralize and beautify the space. In vacant homes, a home stager will bring in furniture and decor so that potential buyers don’t walk into an empty house, which can be equally hard to imagine living in as a cluttered, occupied home.

How much does it cost to stage a home for sale?

Nationally, the price for home staging ranges between $750 and $1,500. The price varies based on how many rooms in the house need staging, whether furniture and decor are needed or the stager can work with the client’s belongings, whether the home is occupied or vacant, and the sale price of the home. Occupied homes typically cost less to stage as they are already furnished, and can require less time and resources than staging an empty house. The main tasks when staging an occupied home are rearranging and decluttering. Staging an empty house can be more expensive as furniture and decor need to be trucked in, requiring transportation, physical labor and potential rental fees. Here are some examples of average home staging costs:

    • 2-hour consultation: $200, includes DIY tips and guidance.
    • 1- to 2-hour consultation and design session: $250, including written report.
      • Additional design consulting: $65 per hour.
    • 8 hours of staging an occupied home: $800.
      • Hands-on staging involving moving furniture, hanging and moving art, and decluttering.
    • Starting price for staging a vacant home could be $2,200.
    • A home stager may charge 1 percent of the home’s selling price.

Hi, I currently live in a 1910 Craftsman home in Oakhurst but am moving, this weekend, into a home in Stone Mountain. Our new home is quite different from our current but has qualities, such as closets, a sunroom, and more space that we are missing at the present moment. While this new home will not be our forever, home, I would like to have the living space feel cohesive. I would also like to be able to use furniture and rugs etc. that can transfer into our forever home in the next few years.
