Nicole was very friendly and attentive. Most importantly, she was quick to respond to my calls and inquiries. I felt like I was dealing with a tax professional that genuinely cares about me and my family, not just someone that prepares tax returns. I also appreciate the straight talk given to me in layman terms and not a lot of jargon I may not understand. It was also nice not having to drive to an office somewhere and "wait for my turn". I uploaded my documents from home with no problem. That was a super plus with my busy schedule.

Kara has been a life saver for our business which has grown in the past few years and became unmanageable for us due to it's growth. Through her expertise and tax accounting business sense, she has gotten us to a point where we now want to be and that is being current on a monthly basis. She worked very hard to get us to that point and I strongly recommend her if you need a professional accountant with integrity and honesty.

They are a good and reliable tax consulting partner. We’ve always found them receptive and ready to answer questions when we call them. Their tax preparation service is very thorough and things always go so quickly with them. We have now been using them for three years to go over our books and prepare our tax returns. They have never let us down and always provided great service. Last year, we couldn’t get our books completed in time and asked them to come in at the last minute to help us out. They were very responsive and even though it was their busy season, they managed to go over our accounts quickly and get the returns submitted with a week to spare. This year, we got in touch with their preparers early on to make sure everything stays on schedule. Great tax preparation firm.

I have used KimThoa Yin's accounting skills and found her to be; very professional, very knowledgeable, certainly skilled, and adapts easily to different accounting problems. I need to add that I used KimThoa's skills for both my individual and business income tax problems and was very pleased with the outcomes.

        About

Since we are one of the only firms in the nation employing deaf people to prepare tax returns for mainstream tax consumers, the standard is much higher since we have to prove ourselves. Fortunately, we have a good reputation, earned over the past 40 years, that enables us to continue our business. We've expanded to serve everyone by focusing on their communication needs. There are many people with hearing loss that are unable to use the relay service, so they are limited to email or text messaging. Also, there are a lot of professionals that simply don't have the time to come into the office, so email and fax are other alternatives that our clients use.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

        Who can file my taxes?

Any individual with a preparer tax identification number (PTIN) is eligible to file your income taxes on your behalf. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean they will be the best candidate to provide the help you need with your income tax preparation. The IRS explains that CPAs, attorneys and enrolled agents are all allowed to legally represent their clients before the IRS. They have a more thorough understanding of tax code than an individual operating solely with a PTIN or an Annual Filing Season Program participant who provides their services on a volunteer basis. Consider the complexity of your tax return and what level of expertise you’ll require. Before entrusting someone with your private financial and personal information, do some research on their qualifications. The IRS has a searchable database where you can verify the background and credentials of your income tax preparation professional. Once you have selected someone, ask about their service fees and confirm their availability. Then provide them with all the documentation they require, including W-2s, 1099s and more. Always ask to review the paperwork before it is submitted, and never sign a blank tax return.

How much does it cost to get taxes done?

Hiring a professional to help with income tax preparation can be priceless. Pro help can mean no mistakes and a maximized tax return. The cost to get your income taxes done depends on the professional you hire. Tax attorneys or in-demand CPAs will often have the highest rates for their services. Next in the pricing tier are enrolled agents, who will usually have higher rates than individuals solely working with a preparer tax identification number (PTIN). Nationally, the average cost of income tax preparation ranges from $150 to $190. Income tax preparation prices can also vary based on where you live and the complexity of your tax returns. Here are some examples of average income tax preparation prices from an enrolled agent:

        • Taxpayers filing only a W-2 tax form: $50.
        • Taxpayers filing a W-2 along with additional tax forms such 1099-INT and 1098-E: $150.
        • Taxpayers with several tax forms and one or two additional considerations such as a rental property, investment transactions, K-1 income, 1099-MISC or a simple small business: $225.
        • Taxpayers with multiple activities (rentals, K-1 income, small business, etc.), several stock transactions and more: $395.

Nationally, the average hourly rate nationally for a tax prep professional ranges between $150 and $450.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
