There was a hiccup at the very beginning with the microphones but the DJs were very apologetic and professional. They fixed them right away and everything else ran smoothly. My husband and I had several specific requests and they accommodated all of them! Thank you so much for providing music for our wedding reception!

Wonderful performance at my daughter's seventh birthday party. He kept the kids and adults entertained with a great variety of magic, and showed off some great close-up work, too. He helped our budding magician learn a few tricks and was extremely friendly and easy to work with. Would DEFINITELY recommend Ace to a friend!

Amina is an amazing person to have at your wedding, and goes above and beyond as the photographer! First of all, I loved how she handled color. As I am Indian and my husband is Caucasian it was really important to us that we find a photographer who could authentically capture us together while maintaining the integrity of what we look like. Amina was fabulous at that. I wasn't washed out, and he wasn't over saturated. Even amongst professional photographers, its hard to find people who can handle light well. Amina does some lovely vintage post processing, but I was looking for a crisp look in my photos; she delivered. My wedding had three events: a casual mixer the night before in a park (6-9pm), a five hour wedding in the morning from 7am to almost noon (and lets not forget getting ready for a couple hours before), and a reception that night (6-9pm). Amina stayed the whole time, and was a champ about the fact that the wedding, being partly Indian, ran late. Her positivity was a great energy to have around a wedding, where small things go wrong all the time! She was professional the whole time, and captured all the important moments in a ceremony she'd never seen based purely on a text-based explanation of what to look for. I didn't have many specific bridal photo requests, not being a pintrest bride, and not wanting to add stress by an additional to-do list to my huge wedding, so Amina came up with poses for our bridal pictures. She was more than willing to work with us, if I had had specific requests too. Her candids were the best part of the photo collection! There was a point in the reception where I was in tears: the reason is unimportant. She had me out there, and basically found me pictures to take and things to do to cheer me up. Like I said, above and beyond. The turnaround time on the pictures was great too! The online gallery was with us the Friday after the wedding, and the high resolution jpgs we'd bought, in a week after that. We haven't yet ordered an album (so that isn't included on the cost) but we can for a year from the wedding, and she offers attractive funding options. We are seriously considering dropping a bomb on the album because the samples she showed us was great! Overall, Amina was a great investment. I'm glad we had her to cover our wedding, and couldn't ask for more.

She took a few amazing shots. Great attitude & business professional. Took my children to her for Christmas Photos, had adorable handmade props. Work space was good, lots of room. Asks your opinion on poses youd like done. Would recommend a few toys, candy, or activities to keep young scared children entertained. But over all good experience!

We used The Cheese Box Photo booth for our daughters wedding in June. It bar far exceeded my expectations. I've been to several other photo booths at weddings this summer, and the quality of the photo's, props, owners was by far superior and very affordable. Large booth for more than two people, clean/fun props, very nice scrapbook for the wedding couple, availability to download your favorite pictures. You won't regret it.

If you're looking for something new and exciting, you've found it. I'm a juggler, acrobat, and aerialist. This is not your everyday one-size-fits-all show. The show gets rolling inside a human-sized hamster ball. How's that for thinking outside the box? Add that to the international award-winning juggling, astounding acrobatic stunts, and high-flying aerial fabric over 25 feet in the air and you've got a show beyond compare that will be remembered long after your event, and with my portable aerial rig, the show can be set up just about anywhere. "I've never seen anything like it!" "We couldn't stop laughing." "She was the highlight of the event! Incredible!" "You are so easy to work with." These are the kinds of glowing reviews past clients have shared when their expectations were blown away after booking my show, and I'd like to bring more of this kind of excitement to your event. Let's start with a brief call wherein you can share your expectations of what you'd like. After our call, you'll receive a quote that takes into account all of the requirements for your party. P.S. To find out more about the show, be sure to watch the video on my homepage; it will knock your socks off!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

      • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
      • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
      • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

      • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
      • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
      • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
      • Add-on features:
        • Photo guest album services: $75.
        • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
        • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
        • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.
