Marie was very flexible as far as scheduling. I was nervous about how the session would go because our lab is almost 100lbs and jumps and gets very excited. I started to worry if he was trainable. She helped him calm down right away and helped us understand how to speak his language and train off a basic foundation. We can build so much training off what she taught us. I have never seen my dog behave so well when somebody came over. I can’t wait to see our Storm be a little less of a disaster warning ;) Thank you so much Marie! We can’t wait to have you check our work!

Selena did an awesome job caring for my dogs while I was away! Usually my dogs are shy and skeptical of meeting new people, but they got along with her great! It was comforting to know that I was leaving my dogs in good hands. I definitely recommend her services! :)

Katie Bender has done house sitting for us on several occasions for up to one week at a time. Her responsibilities include general housekeeping, plants and pet care (cats &dogs). We've always been pleased and satisfied with her work. It's so nice to return home and find everything in great shape!

Chelsey Montgomery truly has a gift when it comes to dogs. My miniature schnauzer, Chester, and I have been part of Knallhart from the beginning and because of that he has done nothing but flourish under the help and guidance Knallhart. In fact, Chester can heel perfectly off leash, has a very reliable recall and has achieved two AKC obedience titles in the last year, taking 4 first place finishes during our title campaign. The main thing that sets Knallhart apart from other training academies is the heart of the kennel Chelsey. She is so open to any questions and concerns I have brought to her attention. We've had many long conversations about techniques I am doing wrong and what I can do to improve my training methods so Chester and I could achieve the goals we have. Chester would not be a 1/4 the dog he is now without Knallhart Kennels and Training Academy. I cannot rate Chelsey high enough.

I like leaving my lab, King, with big dog little kitty pet care when I have to leave town because I know he's on his own vacation when he's with them. They are very accommodating, and he always has another dog or person to play with!

I am an expert in walking your dogs. I love animals. Please call me today for further details.

We are a mobile dog school that has been providing premium canine care and dog training since 2012. We have an all-inclusive price for dog training, dog walking, transportation, and premium canine care.

I offer dog obedience training, which is a 4-month course. I'm specializing in large dog breeds and puppies. I also train the owners. The training is 5 days per week for the first month and 3 days per week for the final 3 months. Some training-specific gear (less than USD100) must be purchased by the owner. Some of the items a dog owner probably already has. At the end of the course, the owner will have a leash-trained dog that is happy and knows how to behave in many different situations.

I take care of animals, and my business is great because I love and respect them. I'm really good with animals.

I've had the pleasure of working with many breeds in the past and specialize in obedience training! Also, I focus very strongly on leash manners and think this is a very important thing for dog owners to do! I'm very inclusive with the owners, and I don't just train your dog. I will also teach you how to lead and get the results you want simply by taking charge!

I will appreciate small or medium dogs but I can handle big dogs to and I will be providing dog treats if they listen

I have been a life long animal over and have been professionally dog walking for the last year.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

  • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
  • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
  • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
  • What are your different walk routes?
  • When will you pick up and drop off?
  • How will we communicate?
  • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
  • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
  • How and how often do I pay you?
  • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
