Andy is a skilled and patient voice teacher. He can diagnose vocal problems and provide instruction for improvement with uncanny accuracy. When I first started voice lessons from Andy I was afraid to sing loud enough for him or anyone else to hear. Now I am a confident singer in quartets and choruses! Andy's training, experience and temperament qualify him to help any singer -- veteran or beginner -- reach the next level.
Excellent instructor. My 14 year old daughter is learning so much. Stephanie covers all basis of vocal lessons and goes in depth and is extremely patient. Very professional. We would highly recommend her.
I have been impressed with how quickly my 6 yr old granddaughter has picked up playing and learning notes in both treble and bass clefts, even composing simple melodies with the methods Mila uses. The group lessons have encouraged her to see herself as a competent learner; peers lend just enough challenge for her to want to join in with singing and playing. Teachers are attentive to individual needs and reward practice well done.
Ms. Summerville has a very unique way of teaching that opened my mind to all the different things I can do with my voice. I've never had an experience quite like this and if you're struggling to feel comfortable with your voice, Nancylee Summerville will help you bring out a beautiful sound.
Andrew has taught private music lessons to two of my children: voice to both my 13 year old son and 18 year old daughter, and private drum lessons, also to my 13 year old. He is fantastic! His own raw musical ability is extraordinary, his musical technique wonderful, and he has natural and very strong teaching skills (which don't always accompany the first two!) My children love him, and always looked forward to lessons with him--they even practiced! I highly recommend him.
Esther's love for all things musical borders on all-out nerdiness. She can talk in-depth about everything from operatic to Radiohead. That makes her an engaging and convincing coach. Her broad knowledge enabled her to cater my vocal lessons to the style I was looking for, which was probably different than a lot of vocal students. She's patient, practical, smiles a lot and will be enthusiastic about the direction you want to go. I've been singing untrained for years, and she was able to pinpoint everything about my singing that DID work and what NEEDED work very quickly. I would absolutely recommend her services. Esther is tremendous.
Andi has been our oldest daughter's piano teacher for the past four years. She is amazing, dedicated teacher and our daughter has LOVED taking lessons from her. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a piano teacher for their child. You will not find a kinder, more talented instructor and your child will thrive under her direction!
My 13 year old daughter has been taking voice and piano with Jenn for several years and loves her lessons. Jenn manages to have her working on theory in addition to learning and performing contemporary and popular music pieces. Jenn is not only a great music coach, she is also well organized. Lesson times are held to and what to practice at home is written down. We are so glad she was recommended to us!
From the ages of 5 to 18 I worked with Pennie in both the realms of Piano and Voice. To this day, I use the concepts and methods that she spent long, hard hours teaching me. Because of her influence, I've been asked to perform in various talent shows, productions, meetings, and events. This woman is extremely talented, loving, patient, and by far the best teacher in town.
Hello, and thank you for looking on Thumbtack for a private instructor! I teach piano, voice, and guitar to beginner through intermediate levels. I work with each individual and help them gain understanding and competence in what they want to do as a musician. I work with you at your own pace. I have a studio, which is not wheelchair accessible, and for those who are disabled, I will travel to you. I charge more to travel, but I charge everyone for the month in advance. At the studio, I charge $25 per half-hour lesson and $45 per hour. So for 4 weeks, that would equal $100 or $180. If there are five lessons in a month, then the price is adjusted accordingly, i.e., $125 and $225. If I am traveling to you, my prices are $35 per half hour and $55 per hour. My location is 5 minutes north of the airport and 6 minutes west of downtown Boise. The address is 355 N Orchard, upstairs in Suite 207.
I teach according to the student's needs and my main motivation is charity.

I have 35 years of experience in teaching private piano lessons and 18 years of experience teaching group and private voice lessons. I am university-trained in both piano and voice. In piano, I teach theory along with all the major and minor scales, chords, and arpeggios from beginners to advanced students. I enjoy teaching all levels and I have a fun approach to teaching beginners of all ages. I use Faber, Alfred and Bastien lesson books, plus levels 1 through 10 classical books. I also teach technique out of Dozen A Day. Voice lessons include an emphasis on proper breathing (very important), posture and relaxation, many vocalizes (vocal exercises), technique books, diction, and many enjoyable songs to sing and practice. I am positive and patient, with one of my main goals being, to help instill a great love of music in all of my students. I expect students to practice a minimum of five days per week. Lessons are $15.00 per 30-minute lesson and $22.50 per 45-minute lesson (for more advanced students), one lesson each week. I live between Franklin and Overland in Boise close to the Meridian boundary.
I have taught lessons for over 15 years and have over 35 students. I am big on theory and make it fun. That is why I have a lot of students that I have taught for more than 4 years.
To quote Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "Music is the universal language of mankind." Music is a beautiful and powerful medium of communication and expression. Do you have an interest in learning how to sing? Would you like to improve your musicality and ability to perform and express yourself? Take the leap and try voice lessons. My coaching is direct and honest. I have been studying music ever since I could speak, and I have taken professional lessons in classical singing with Dr. Drew Minter at Vassar College in New York. I have experience in classical, musical theater, pop, R&B, gospel, soul, and jazz music. Singing is important to me, not only because of the joy it brings me, but also because of how it can connect people, regardless of their differences. Voice lessons can help you not only learn how to use your voice, but also improve your breathing, diction, text interpretation, and overall confidence in your abilities to perform and express yourself.
I teach private piano and voice lessons in my home. I have taught from beginner to intermediate levels and like to focus on each individual student's interests. We will focus on theory, technique, performance and improvisation. I host two recitals per year.
