Introduction: We have set ourselves apart from our competition in the hardwood flooring industry by continually raising the bar on our service, quality and overall standards. We are always on the cutting edge of the ever changing technology that applies to the hardwood flooring industry. By keeping up to date on the latest technology, these improvements allows us to better serve our customers and help them to make better decisions about their investment in hardwood flooring. The race to excellence has no finish line. Our quality standards are set very high because we believe our customers should recieve the best possilbe product for their investment. The best part about my job is the day to day interaction with people. I enjoy meeting new people and providing customers with a professional service and a product that will literally last them a lifetime. Starting from the initial contact from setting up an appointment for an estimate to the final walk through after the job is completed are great opportunities to build and nurture lasting relationships with people. I also enjoy looking at a finished product at the end of the day and knowing that what I leave behind will be a beautiful wood floor for someone to enjoy for years to come. Teaching my trade to others is also very rewarding and I hope that when my time to retire approaches that I will have passed on my knowledge to someone who will use it to continue this wonderful service.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Before I became a hardwood floor technician in the late 80's I was a courtesy clerk at a large well known grocery store. I did enjoy my job at the grocery store because I had many opportunities throughout my day to interact with many customers. The one thing I felt I was lacking was some good old fashioned hard work. I was offered an enrty level position at the premier hardwood floor company in my area. I took the position in 1989 and have never looked back since. I have the good fortune of having been trained by some of the best hardwood floor techicians in the country. I intend to pass this knowledge on to the next generation with the hopes that this trade will continue on for generations to come.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Our most common job type(s) would be New installs, sand & re-finish old floors and maintenance coats on recent floors. Many jobs require us to remove and dispose of existing carpet, vinyl and in some cases old hardwood that is beyond its service life.We also offer floor maintenance cleaning tips and demonstrations on the do's and dont's of how to care for their investment. The majority of our work is re-finishing because the new home sales have slowed a bit but people are investing money into the home they are currently living in. As new home sales increase, we will see an increase in new construction install, sand and finish.
