- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I said goodbye to the cubical life and hello to finally pursuing my career where my passion lies in the fitness industry full-time, and I couldn’t be happier. I worked out of a cubicle day in, day out for a family-owned electric company for about five and a half years. I met some life-long friends and learned a lot about the industry, but it just wasn’t for me. I learned that I was not passionate about my job, which ultimately left me unhappy. I was always told to find passion in what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life. I always found myself spending all my time either wanting to be in the gym or wanting to help others reach their fitness goals. I started working as a group fitness instructor part-time after a full day of being at the office. It never really felt like a “second” job for me. Being able to motivate people and hear how I have helped them meet their goals was the most amazing feeling. That’s when I decided to take things to the next level and get certified as a Personal Trainer. I did a 12-week internship at a prestigious gym in downtown Chicago and now have the pleasure of doing what I love at The Endorphin Effect. I could not be more satisfied with what I do for a living. I want all of my clients to be successful, happy, and confident in themselves, just as I learned to be. My ultimate goal everyday is to help coach my clients that fitness is not just temporary, it’s a lifestyle change, little by little – striving for a long and healthy life, not just a hot body! “The magic happens outside of your comfort zone.”
