If you listen and practice at home how he explains at your lesson, his teaching will always lead you to the next level quicker. Every exercise and concerto has a specific lesson it is teaching you, you never waste your time. This is the difference between having just any run of the mill violin teacher, and an actual professional teaching you. You will actually learn technique for violin playing, and end up learning music theory while you're at it.
