FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I base my estimates on a reasonable hourly rate plus the cost of materials. When I quote a job, I give my clients a range of pricing based on how long I believe it will take to create, deliver and install their project. Once I have a signed contract, the pricing will not change unless we discover something unexpected during the project (plumbing and electrical that needs to be relocated, that sort of thing)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Discuss, determine their needs, talk about aesthetics and functionality, design, style, etc. Get to the core of the project, and then work outwards to establish parameters and scope. Then provide a detailed proposal with estimate and timeframe.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA. I've worked in the milling industry, the cabinet industry, finishing, etc. I teach classes in these fields myself, so I am always exploring new ideas and reading up on ways to improve my skills and stay ahead of the curve.
