Introduction: New Student Package - 4 Lessons for $349 Schedule a Free Consultation! CURRENTLY OFFERING ONLY REMOTE LESSONS VIA ZOOM OR SKYPE. Soulstream Music Studio - based in Chicago, IL - is one of a select handful of studios in the Midwest concentrating solely on Contemporary Commercial Music - covering genres such as pop, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, gospel, rock and more... Soulstream stands out among other vocal studios because we are not about "one-size-fits-all" vocal instruction. First and foremost students get to be involved in their own instruction which means they have the freedom to choose the kind of music that they want to learn and that excites them to learn about! Students also get to explore their musical aspirations be they big or small, and to create goals that are realistic and customized to them as individuals. Michele Thomas, owner and instructor of Soulstream Music, really enjoys helping people find their voice, not only in terms of their sound but in terms of their unique personality. Michele works to help people feel confident in what their own sound is; not trying to mimic other singers voices, but cultivating their own genuine voice. At Soulstream Music Studio, singers who find their true voice find their confidence and find their artistic freedom. Singing Lessons (for adults)

Michele is wonderful in all aspects of her service. She is extremely patient and encouraging. She truly knows her craft and this is very easy to see when you are with her. She has a balanced approach to learning how to not only use your voice but your ears as well. It's been a pleasure working with her. I would recommend Michele to anyone that is interested in vocal lessons.

Kyle I just love your work ethic and focus! It makes my job easy when students are all in and eager to learn more. You've been growing steadily, and I can't wait to see you reach the next level in your musical goals! Just remember the days when you have "great focus" ;) and stay encouraged!

Singing Lessons (for adults)

Michele is very personable, patient and just flat out awesome to work with! I'd been meaning to take singing lessons for some time and finally got around to doing it. I've played music for years and studied Jazz/Classical guitar in college and could recognize right away that Michele is a true talent and knows what she's doing. By the end of the introductory class I knew I'd found the right teacher to help me develop my ear and my voice.

Jesus, thank you so much for this review! I've had a blast working with you too! :)

Singing Lessons (for adults)

Michele is a great teacher. I have been singing a long time, but this is my first lesson. She has helped me understand my voice and designed practice routines to strengthen it, as well as build a song list that I love to sing. She is very supportive. I always feel great after a session with her!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO, IL I OFFER LESSONS VIA SKYPE, FACETIME, OR WHEREBY APPS. Discount pricing starting at $55 for 30 min weekly lessons. Discount lesson package available for new students. Financial aid also available for qualifying students. Online payments only. For more information and to schedule an appointment go to our website to register.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

In our first lesson together, we typically take time to explore the voice and get a sense of the baseline for the student's vocal and musical abilities. But I also work with the student to develop a practical mindset and create a positive framework for cultivating a great singing technique. I value every singer, no matter what their level, because private lessons are a significant investment, and my hope is to see that every student not only improves as a singer but comes to understand the skill of singing so that they can continue to grow.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a B.A. in Music from North Park University with several years of private study under such master coaches as tenor David Holloway and Randy Buescher of the Your True Voice studio. My continuing education has included level one certification in Somatic Voicework -The LoVetri Method - which is a program training vocal teachers and coaches in methods for Contemporary Commercial Music. I am also a member of The National Association of Teachers Of Singing which provides continuing research in the field of vocal science and education.
