They showed up on time and finished ahead of the estimated schedule. The guys wrapped all of the furniture I requested and worked very fast. Very reasonably priced compares to more well known moving companies and did an awesome job.
I cannot recommend this moving company more. I was moved by Antonio and Angel and they were friendly and hard working beyond words. They not only moved me in the two hour window, but I know they did everything in their power to do so. Because they saved me money by not going over, I was able to tip more. I had three movers move LESS in more time in the past. Antonio also made a point to keep me updated on their progress throughout the move. One more thing--- they clearly paid attention to the fragile boxes, because not one item was broken. Side note-- This is the second review I have ever written in my life, and the first positive one :)
These guys are true PROS at what they do. Their level of communication is second to none, I always received a response in minutes to any questions I had prior to move. The fees were explained in detail and there truly were no hidden fees like I’ve had in the past with other moving companies. I can’t speak enough to their level of professionalism and kindness. They moved my second floor apartment to a 3rd floor- 2 flights of stairs per floor, apartment, in 90+ degrees and didn’t seem to be bothered by the heat. The service: Moving out of my 22nd floor condo building apartment in downtown (Streeterville) Chicago to the far north suburbs of Illinois (Winthrop Harbor), with the estimated distance of just under 60 miles, thanks to a little basic research using Google Maps. Details of the Moving (items, boxes, etc.): -8 fully-loaded boxes containing clothes, linens, important books/documents, securely-wrapped kitchen ware (eg, glasses, plates) and small household appliances. The average size of the box was either 20x20x20 or 22x22x22. -3 different sized tables including. I didn't get a chance to disassemble one of them thinking i'd just leave it behind. As for the other two, I took the time to disassemble the legs which I then tucked away underneath the table tops and taped securely in place, thinking I could try to make things easier for the movers by making the process as efficient as possible. -4 pairs of neatly stacked chairs (total of 8 chairs, altogether). -1 antique two-person sofa with a heavy-set wood frame that you simply can't take apart. -1 queen-sized bed including mattress, box spring and frame (which I thought I'd also leave behind). -2 blue storage bins loaded with cook ware and smaller electronics/portables -some accessory items including a tall, long-standing light fixture and a vacuum which I thought about leaving behind as well. -2 overly-filled open-top boxes with trash and garbage -a wine rack and dresser which I actually donated to one of the building maintenance people instead of trashing it Why I chose Apex over four top-rated professional moving companies that I researched about on yelp, google and from word of mouth: Because I was a little pressed with time, I used Thumbtack for the first time and saw a few moving companies reach out to me with pretty reasoable offers. For someone who has moved around quite often, I've learned to do whatever you can to make it easier for the movers from the time of pick-up to the actual drop-off. With that said, I don't always believe in hourly-paid services regardless of industry. There are those who milk the system, providing little service but know how to turn a profit. As a customer, I just wanted to keep it straightforward and honest. I called around, asked for quotes and questioned exactly where each of my hard-earned dollar goes towards. I noticed most places charging hourly rates, sometimes sending over 2 or 3 people to do the job. I also noticed most places charging for 2 or 3-hour minimums. Expecting to pay at the very least, $250-375, I certainly couldn't see myself forking up anything over $650. That's just how it goes. So, I tried my best to make the process very efficient, for my sake as a customer. I kept everything straightforward. I explained exactly in detail what I was moving, how many people I felt could get the job done effectively and what my price point was set at. With that said, I also knew that it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes in driving distance from downtown Chicago to Winthrop Harbor on a good day. To get the most value, I looked at ways to save time on the loading. I had the building manager assist by reserving the elevator to facilitate moving efforts. From the way I looked at it, I couldn't see this taking any longer than 4 hours at most including the driving itself. So I reached out to Adam from Apex, explained my situation and asked about the $100 flat-fee for travel, which included the truck and the distance. I wanted to take advantage of that especially after other places were trying to mark up their prices by playing into the "well, there could be traffic..." and suggesting that it could take up to 5-7 hours, which I thought was a bit ridiculous. When I called Apex, Adam realized that I wasn't messing around. I told him that I really didn't want to spend more than $500 or so. I also told him I didn't think 3 people would be necessary for the job. Realistically, I knew this would take probably 3.5-4 hours altogether so I wanted to be fair and said I'd be willing to pay $450 to get the job done. He was more than receptive to the idea especially even after I reminded him that I'd be fine with paying a little more if needed. So I just finished up with the move-out today, which went better than I even expected. The two gentlemen had arrived at the loading dock, at least 15 minutes ahead, called me to inform me and even communicated with the building manager directly to coordinate the use of the elevator. These guys were very professional and even down-to-earth. We probably could've chatted for hours but we both realized how important it was not to waste each other's valuable time. I felt awful for jam-packing boxes to full-capacity and asking if they could be kind enough to help with the last minute request in throwing the trash out. Even when I hesitated about taking the bed, the sofa and table, they were so encouraging and helpful, making it all work out. They even disassembled the bed frame and treated each and every item with care, which I appreciated. The move itself took just about 4 hours. For the service they provided, it was definitely worth the $450. Everyone has been accommodating with any of my needs and requests. They're very professional and respectful. Most importantly, they were very open and honest, not worrying about getting the run-around that others would easily take advantage of. Thank you again to everyone at Apex for all your help, making it such a painless move. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, hardworking moving company. I wish that we could give SafeHands more than 5 starts! We requested quotes a little late (middle May) for an early June move. Melvin responded right away and was willing to work with our budget to make sure that we were completely satisfied. He even said they are customer-focused and are willing to do what they can to make the customer happy. This is so rare for moving companies, and even in the initial process, we did not have a similar experience. We knew if the move went as well as the initial conversation, we would be extremely satisfied. We had to push our move back one week due to a family situation, and Melvin was very flexible in allowing us to reschedule our move and was so kind and understanding when I told him about our situation. On moving day, the movers called to check if they would be able to come a bit earlier than scheduled. Once we said that it was fine, they arrived about an hour before the scheduled window and got to work right away! They were so polite and professional and kept asking us what else they could move for us (even just small boxes and things we were capable of moving ourselves). They were extremely careful with all of our furniture and spent so much time to make sure that they placed it exactly where we wanted it in our new home. We have a complicated bedframe and they took a lot of time to make sure that it was put together correctly. Prior to moving, we heard so many horror stories with moving companies rushing through the job, not showing up on time, or just being a bad experience overall. Our moving team was certainly not rushed and spent over five hours with us to move a 1BR apartment downtown Chicago to a more residential area in North Center. Moving is not fun, but SafeHands certainly made the experience more pleasant. Great experience with Ollie and Angelo from TLF - they came on relatively short notice on a Sunday, and helped us move some of our bigger items in less than the time quoted by other moving companies. They let us know when they were on their way and arrived a bit early, and immediately got to work quickly and efficiently. Would recommend to anyone looking for reasonable moving rates!

Alliance was the best moving experience, from the first phone call to the final handshake. I found them using Thumbtack, and within the first hour of submitting my request, I was contacted by Phyllis to schedule an on-site estimation. We scheduled a date and time that worked, and on that date, right on time, they showed up and gave me a very thorough in-person review of everything I'd need packed and shipped. They were the only moving company who came out for an in-person estimate (others either just wanted a list of things, or did a "virtual" estimate, but Alliance went that extra miles to really see for themselves what we needed to move, helping us feel confident we were on the same page for the quote.) We had a special situation that would spread our move out over several days, requiring us to store items on their truck (essentially locking up one of their trucks for a couple nights, preventing them from using it) and they offered me a very reasonable quote for all the services, including storage. We called no fewer than 6 other moving companies, and despite other companies having more "word of mouth" recommendations from friends, nobody was able to meet or beat Alliance's service and quote - and this was even BEFORE any actual moving started. We just felt the most comfortable and cared for with Alliance, so we went with them. Absolutely no regrets - they made what was a stressful move into a breeze. The team came in, packed up everything that was odd-shaped like lamps and mirrors, and were very careful with my already-packed delicate items and breakable kitchen stuff. They had our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom (3rd floor WALKUP) condo cleared out within 4 hours, and with smiles on all of their faces. They even were so sweet to our two dogs; I even loved the shirts they wore that said "If your dog doesn't like someone, maybe you shouldn't either" or something like that - well, our dogs were very comfortable with them despite the stressful situation of strangers taking away all of their stuff! That's how you know they're good guys :) Two days later, they rolled up again, and had our new house moved in within 3 hours again. The final bill came in under-budget and 100% perfect - nothing scratched, broken, or damaged. I would recommend Alliance to anyone looking for movers who care, who really focus on customer service from start to finish, and who really go that extra mile to make your move less stressful. I have used many different moving companies and they all seem to be similar when it comes to rates, number of movers provided and liability policies. I found these guys from Thumbtack and decided to give them a try since their rate was slightly lower but the most important factor for me was they had 3 movers coming over when all other companies only provided 2 for an 1 bed move. That equates to getting the job done faster so that not only I save money but also save my time! And oh yeah, I was right of course. They finished up my move more than 1 hour earlier than my previous moves and nothing was damaged. Nothing was scratched. They wrapped just about everything with either shrink wraps or blankets real fast. I mean really really fast. These guys are terminators.. They were really good at following my instructions and everything was executed nicely. I bought them a dozen pack of Tecate for job well done on top of my more than usual tip and they gave 2 bottles back to us to enjoy. Super friendly people. Give them a shot on your next move!
The purpose of this review is to inform you that you should without a doubt trust Chicagoland Moving and Storage for your move. Want the details? Read on fellow buyer: Like a prudent buyer, I researched all the moving companies I could find- Yelp, Angie's List, Home Depot, Thumbtack, you name the impartial review site, and I read it. Chicagoland's price was a little high of the middle of the majority of companies that I saw. I called and was greeted immediately by the owner, Mr. Erez Ron, who did what they all do. He asked for the inventory to be moved, and made a similar prediction in terms of manpower and time estimate as the other companies I spoke to. But then he asked, "How can I secure your business?" Basically the entire time I dealt with this company, every member was realistic and went out of their way to work as hard as they could to ensure this move went over without a hitch. He made a me an excellent deal, and we waited for the scheduled move day. Erez's team, led by Eric and accompanied by Reuben, Tio, and Vincente, arrived punctually as specified, and we reviewed the work- and immediately the expertise of the team stated that this would take longer than they'd quoted. This was expected, and ought to be factored into every move. The team got right to it though. Enter the elements: we got record rain in Cook County that day, and you know what? The team didn't bat an eyelash, and given a break here and there when it was raining buckets, they charged in and out of the rain to load and unload the truck. It DID take longer that we'd expected, but considering how hard it was, I've never seen any moving company work harder, faster, or more efficiently. They were polite, exact, and made sure that what needed to be done was done in the best manner to avoid damage and issues with neighbors etc. I couldn't have been happier with the result! I'd heard horror stories of some companies rescheduling or quitting because the job was too big, or traffic was abominable, or because the weather was too harsh. Friends of mine had incidents with other companies that dawdled on the job, or broke things, damaged the floors/walls of the house, or some objects just disappeared. I've also heard the shock from family members who had entire rooms of furniture moved that never had to simply because communication was poor with the movers. You will NOT have any of these issues with Chicagoland Movers. My research couldn't have been more accurate about it. My overall experience with the genuine, hardworking, and diligent nature of the people I met with Chicagoland Moving and Storage ensured that the move went as smoothly as it rationally ever could have transpired.
My fiancee and I just moved to Evanston. We had a 10 feet U-Haul with furniture and boxes for a studio. From all the offers I received, We Got You gave me the best deal both in price and commitment. Unlike all the other moving companies, We Got You did not force us to commit to 2 hours of service. This was impoetant because my fiancew and I knew the unloading to the apartment would take an hour max. They in fact finished in one hour and thats all they charged us for. Best part is that the 2 members that came to do the unloading were friendly and even did even more by helping us set up the big furniture where we wanted it and putting together things like the bed and frame together. They were also very accommodating because we changed our arrival time 3 times on them due to eoad delays and they did not mind. Overall, excellent Moving Company and most likely if I have to move again within the city, I will reach out to them directly
They handled all of or pre-packed boxes and all our furniture with care. We have some exspensive pieces and had a negative experience with a previous move/moving company, so it was refreshing to have a good experience. There was great communication throughout, and did an excellent job fitting everything into our storage unit. The only problem, was we planned to pay by credit card. We were told by the office that was fine a few days in advance, and that there would be a 3% charge, which we were ok with. The head mover told us this was fine when he arrived, then proceeded to have us fill out the paperwork. At the end of the move he then came to us and said he couldn't get ahold of the office and we'd have to pay by cash. He said if we didn't pay by cash we'd have to wait endlessly to hear back from the office. We didn't believe what he was saying, but obliged because we were on a time constraint. We felt a little scammed and are now unsure if we will use them again when we complete the second part of our move this summer. We'd probably require written communication from them, that we will exclusively pay by card and there will not be any other options the day of.
Pick Up Movers handled our move from IL to NYC. Alex and Sergey did an excellent job, much better than other moving companies I've used in the past. The team were very considerate of our 7-month old baby and all her items to move them with care and cleanliness. They kept in constant contact with me via cell/txt message to ensure we'd arrive at the same time my two different storage lockers between IL and NYC . They inventoried every item precisely. Overall we couldn't have asked for a better mover.

I hired two Bellhops for two hours to help me move out of my storage unit onto the moving truck. Having the extra hands helped to alleviate any stress of moving and they did all the heavy lifting. The entire process was expedited because of their assistance.
After a disappointing experience with a previous mover, I am pleased to state the experience with J C Movers was exceptional. My item was outside the metro Chicago area but the moving company agreed to my request. They were punctual, professional, and contacted me throughout the process. Highly recommend and would use again.

Jay and Will did a great job of helping out with two separate jobs, both moving furniture. Jay was flexible to how we setup the move and was experienced enough to know the best way to approach moving the different pieces. Would definitely work with him again.
