- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll answer any questions and concerns people will have regarding lessons, my approach, the learning process, the student, or anything else. When someone decides they or their child would like to take lessons from me I'll discuss with the student things like what their goals as a guitar player are, what types of music and bands they listen to, and what songs they’d like to learn. My goal is to understand where the student wants to go with this, which helps me tailor lessons so that I can best help them reach their goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Five years of private lessons in piano; five years of private lessons in guitar; a trained teacher, having a type 03 elementary education teaching certificate (ISBE) with an endorsement to teach K-9 music, along with teaching experience; completed the Summer Session program at Musician's Institute Guitar Institute of Technology in North Hollywood, CA. I am always looking to learn from books, videos and websites that are guitar oriented. Every day I go through a practice regimen utilizing these resources so that I can become a better musician and teacher.
