He is an amazing performer!!! He really knows how to attract children attention. Every kid at our daughter's birthday party was amazed and happy to have a chance to participate in the show. We had many entertainers every year for our little one's birthday but Great Boodini so far was the best one! Definitely we going to hire him again! Very professional, punctual and he responds very quickly for any questions. He offers variety of magical tricks/ shows for small and big kids. Definitely I recommend him to anyone who wants to have great and unforgettable party!!!

The photo booth was a huge success at our corporate event. We loved working with Maria and Brooke and they were super sweet and our guests enjoyed interacting with them. The photo booth was large enough for us to get 5 people inside. The unlimited prints are awesome and the digital library of the entire event is fun to have. Props we're a huge hit and we will definitely use XOXO Photobox in the future again.

I recently booked a photobooth for my daughters graduation party and my experience was phenomenal. The Photobot people reassured me with follow up calls and emails discussing everything that was going to happen at the event so i knew exactly what I was getting. The day of the attendant showed up an hour early set everything up and then layed on the charm so my guests and I had an amazing time. Would highly recommend this to all my friends I want photobooths at all my events, thank you Mr.photobot

Fantastic experience working with Complete Weddings! Josh was so helpful during the planning leading up to the event, and during the event. We had a photobooth and a DJ for a corporate holiday party, and every part of working with Complete was very pleasant and professional. Antonio, the DJ, engaged the crowd and facilitated the activities we wanted to play, while Josh manned the photobooth and made friendly convos with our attendees (even swooping in for his wife who was supposed to be there helping with the booth, but had to leave early because she wasn't feeling well!). Overall, a great experience working with Complete, and I would highly recommend this company for your future event!

I have known Woodi Bruce not just for years, but decades. We became friends as fellow performers in our home town of Milwaukee, and I have watched his development not only as a performer but as a person as well. I am a big fan on stage and off. Woodi has always been a hard working performer who constantly works to improve his skills as both a ventriloquist and comedian. I happen to be just a comedian and teach a series of classes for up and comers. Years ago Woodi joined my class, and quite honestly I was surprised to see him. He told me he wanted to improve his comedy and that alone showed me he is far beyond most performers who are ego driven and self centered. Woodi cared about his craft first. As the classes progressed, Woodi put in extra effort and really came through with a terrific chunk of very personal material that was absolutely WONDERFUL - and also hilarious. He found his inner comedic voice and has continued to grow and improve in all areas of the business since. I have a deep respect and sincere admiration for Woodi both as a performer and a friend, and I would recommend hiring him for any events. He will show up and give his all, and I can't imagine that not being more than enough. Woodi Bruce is a seasoned pro and still loves to be on stage and do what he does best - entertain any audience! Much respect and continued success.

Every year we host a Mardi Gras or Valentine's day party for our parish community. SoPrime Entertainment is by far the best. They provide us with a DJ, photo booth, and uplighting every year, which is all amazing. The people are wonderful to work and they care about making your event a success. Every year I get rave reviews from our attendees about how awesome the music and photo booth is. There's no doubt in my mind that we will continue using them for all of our events.

My husband and I got married 2 weeks ago. Tony was the sound for our ceremony as well as our Emcee and DJ for our reception. Tony was GREAT! Not only did he send us questionnaire to fill out before hand in order to get a better understanding of what we wanted but he also worked with our crazy busy schedule and responded back to emails promptly. He kept the dance floor moving all night long, our guests are still talking about how much fun it was! He definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to music. We can’t express how thankful we are for his services for our wedding day!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

  • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
  • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
  • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
  • Add-on features:
    • Photo guest album services: $75.
    • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
    • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
    • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

  • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
  • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
  • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.
