Miss Susie was very knowledgeable and genuinely caring about both the puppy and the family. She offered a variety of hands on techniques that we are able to use from the very start. I would highly recommend her services and we will use her again as a resource for dog training.
Dee is amazing she is best dog trainer! My dog love her!
Diana was very open and communicative with us while our dog was in training. Rollo, our dog, has some anxiety issues and Dianna worked well with him getting him socialized with other dogs and calming his anxiety. I feel confident that if anyone works with her and follows her training, you will see a noticeable difference in your dog. I really like how Dianna keeps in contact after training, caring for Rollo as if he was her own. Thanks!
She has gotten to know my family and guided us well in training our pup!
Even though I didn't eventually need a walker, I was impressed with the prompt, polite, and accommodating responses from your employee. If I should need dog walking services in the future, I surely will contact you.
Scott did a great job with house training/off leash training with my dog, Penny, and later bird training.
We have only had 2 sessions but Carolyn has given us good tips to get started with our dog's training. She is very professional, prompt and calming with our dog and us.
Scott was great! He was very knowledgeable and took the time answering all the questions I had about training our dog Sofie. So glad I checked out in-home training services!!!
I am delighted to write a review for Sherry from Love, Honor and Obey. I have a 9 month old- very large Great Dane. I was having trouble walking him (he knocked me down twice), he needed to learn commands, and I needed him to learn to obey. I found the price to be very reasonable- I was surprised at how affordable one-on-one training in my house was ( I was not confident enough to take my dog out to a group training as I didn't feel it was safe-he was too strong for me to control). First visit, Sherry requested that all family members were present and she asked each one of us what our training goals were (even the kids)-this was very helpful. I learned how to properly walk this dog at our first session, and by the end of the 2nd session, I could walk him confidently by myself. Sherry has a tremendous amount of experience in dog training and that is evident from the start. I am someone who has had dogs all my life, and I have learned so much- from nutrition to proper collars/harness, to appropriate toys. Sherry gave me a nice instruction manual with LOADS of good information. Sherry has made herself available by phone for any issues/questions that arise between training sessions. We have completed 4 lessons and I am amazed at how well we are all doing. It is nice to see Sherry in action, to see how well she can control a dog that is twice her size-using only positive reinforcement.
Here is a little history, we adopted a tree walker coonhound from a shelter in Tennessee and brought him home to Wisconsin. The first month was ok as we all got adjusted to each other. There were counter surfing, mouthing and dominance issues from the beginning. We knew we had a stubborn ALPHA, ALPHA male but we were working through it. The dog and I had an altercation over a rawhide where he became very aggressive and tried to bite me. From that day forward he would try to attack me unsolicited any time he saw me or heard my voice. It got so bad I would have to lock myself in a room so my wife could let him out. I am 6',1" tall and 220 lbs, this is the first time in my life with all the dogs I've owned that I was afraid of a dog. We talked to many behaviorist's whom all said we should just rehome the dog and had no answers for us. I was determined not to give up and make things work because I knew that this was a good dog deep down inside. That is when I was recommend to Shelly at "Hair of the dog that bit ya". I got a great feeling from her right away on the phone and was intrigued by her explanation of how she handles her training of dogs (it was a much different approach from what I was hearing from everyone else). This is a large breed hunting dog who is aggressive and she knew exactly how to handle it. She came out the very next morning to a situation where everyone in the house was uneasy and afraid of this dog who now was in total control of the situation. Long story short after two hours Shelly had broken the dog had him taking commands from both my wife and myself. We felt like we had our lives back and believe it or not the dog seemed happier that he now knew the pecking order. This was truly a Christmas miracle for my entire family. The picture attached is from the same day where that morning my dog wanted to kill me and what he was like by the afternoon! I cannot thank Shelly enough and I am so excited for our new life together with Bohannon. Todd & Shelly Bloom
Super friendly and my dog loves him!! Very patient and calm despite our anxious dog! Just 20 min and we've seen improvements!
I was having issues with my boy Brunswick. I had taken him to a different dog training program. It just wasn't enough for my stubborn boy. I needed an extensive in-resident program. Leslie was able to get him in immediately. She thoroughly explained what she was going to do to help me and Brunswick. I thought if he learned only half of what she said I would be happy. He was a bit overweight. He slimmed down and looks great. Leslie made some recommendations to his diet and he loves it. It also saves me some money. The program was not just for him. It was also for me. I am becoming a better dog handler. I am more confident in what I can do with Brunswick. When I have questions, Leslie responds quickly. I am so glad I found The Educated Canine. I wish I had known about her a year ago.
I could not say enough good things about working with Stephanie when it came to training my dog. I have a rambunctious bulldog who's a year and a half. Nothing but behavioral problems, nipping, chewing things, eating things, and not coming when called. She was always on time, patient with my dog and myself, and made me feel comfortable with having her take care of my pup. I would HIGHLY recommend having her train your dog. I was thoroughly impressed to say the least!! I fully intend on utilizing this training in the future with future dogs as well.
Great extra service added by YBFDH!! This place was really great with working out our dogs aggression, and then when we were ready they helped us get him certified as an emotional support dog. I noticed a review on here or their other page stating that a dog had been in a fight. I am the owner of the second dog in this " fight". The story in the review below is inaccurate. The owner of YBFDH acted as any business owner would in the situation that was presented. I think it is malicious and frankly disgusting to post such a review. YBFDH/AT YOUR SERVICE has been a god send for our family! If you're not satisfied with your experience I will reimburse you for your training costs!
Jeanie Murray: Well, seven years ago Tom McMurchie worked with me and my 1-year old Labradoodle, Rush, in Phoenix AZ. I don't have adequate words to explain how wonderful the experience was. Tom was knowledgeable, professional, patient, humane, and just darn perfect. He trained me as well to make Rush an awesome, well-mannered family member. Then, Tom moved to Chicago. Rush is 8 years old (still perfect), but Tom has always been available for me to talk to him on the phone with dog-training advice. Then we brought a second Labradoodle into our home at 8 weeks old, Reagan. Do I ever wish Tom was still here to work with me and Reagan, who is a work in progress (almost 3 years old now). Actually, Tom did advise from afar when I had questions about Reagan. If you are looking for that perfect person to work with you and your dog, don't look any further than Tom McMurchie. Thanks, Tom!
