- What types of customers have you worked with?
Ready, Set, Stage Consultations. Five hours of service plus a written Staging TO DO List performed in two visits.Entire property is covered--from curb appeal throughout entire interior. Client is able to work on TO DO List after initial Consultation and then we return to fine-tune hands-on Stage for the remaining time. Some homes can be completely Staged for pictures at the completion of this Consult, for others (different for each property) we can Stage the entire home for an added investment.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am the Mentor Chair for the Greater Chicago International Association of Home Staging Professionals (GCIRC). We recently Staged a home for an 83-yr old woman who was short on funds. Her REALTOR paid for a 2-hour Consult, and then I brought in ASPs from our local chapter who wanted some mentoring. They (and we) gave our time to Stage the woman's home for free. It had been on the market for two years without an offer. After implementing some of our recommendations and after our hands-on Staging, the home was re-listed and sold in 3 days!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a Professional Stager with credentials and insurance. ASP Stagers have both! TRUE Staging is using what you have first--not removing everything you have and paying money for all new things. In some cases, a few new, colorful items are needed, and a client should be willing to help make their home as appealing as possible within their budget.
