My son has been taking piano lessons with Mr. Garcia since last winter, and he has learned so much so far! Mr. Garcia is very professional, flexible, and patient with my son, tailoring each lesson to what he needs to work on. My son really likes him too, and looks forward to the lessons and practicing. Overall great experience!
My son, Anshul Biswas took Piano lessons from Su Ray. His skills developed very well under her guidance and she was always very patient and involved with him. She was perceptive to his individual needs and specific musical interest too. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Piano or other instrument.
Things are going great with my son's piano lessons. Terri has the ability to be both patient with and push where needed. We look forward to working with Terri on a regular basis.
Ms. David gave piano lessons to my two boys when they were in grade school. We owe a lot to her as she discovered my sons' talent for music and inspired them to continue pursuing music even as young adults.
I offer a private music instruction for piano, guitar, drums, clarinet. I teach all ages, and a variety of styles (classical, jazz, folk, pop). With young students, I make sure they get the music fundamentals that they will need where ever their musical journey takes them. And, we have fun making music together. That's key. With some of my older students, I've been able to group them together into ensembles/bands, playing "covers" or their own compositions. Music skills last a lifetime and enhance all the other skills your child is mastering. Knowing how music works enhances your enjoyment of just listening to quality music, in any genre.
I took 5 in-home guitar lessons from Steve and loved every minute! I had never played guitar before so we were starting from scratch. We covered a lot of information, tailored to what I wanted to learn, and I felt like I made a lot of progress in a short amount of time. Steve was always on time, well-prepared for lessons, and was very encouraging. I would recommend Steve to anyone interested in taking guitar lessons.
At first, I was skeptical. The last time I had a piano lesson was more than 30 years ago from a little old lady in a small town. But, in very short time, Clarke proved he was much more than just a competent piano player. He is also a great teacher. Clarke was able to instill confidence in my playing even though I'm starting all over again. I'm very glad I gave him the opportunity as a piano teacher. Once I'm proficient in the lessons he gave me, I will go back!
A former full-time school teacher, Joshua Jones (BA, Wheaton College), is a fun and enthusiastic music instructor. Joshua has been teaching guitar, piano, and bass guitar lessons for 14 years in a variety of styles including rock, pop, blues, jazz, and folk. He loves to inspire his students with a love for outside-the-box creativity and a passion for excellence. Joshua is an encourager and a good fit for students of all ages. He specializes in taking beginner and intermediate students to the next level. Several of Joshua's current and former students now play professionally. Joshua has also been a guest lecturer on music topics such as songwriting and music theory and has served as a music department faculty member for the Karitos Arts Conference in suburban Chicago. He performs regularly with the Gregory Hyde Band (an original rock band) and Twin Strings (a string ensemble performing pop/rock cover songs for weddings and corporate events) as well as other groups, including his own band (a rock fusion jam band). Joshua has composed over 130 songs and co-written or arranged hundreds more. Students interested in songwriting, improvisation, music theory, and/or playing in a band need to look no further.
Studying with Sheryl Rak is neverending! Though I was consistently taking lessons with Sheryl for 4-5 years, Sheryl continues to serve as a mentor to my continuous improvement as a vocalist front man of one of the most respected original rock bands in the Chicagoland area...Broken Vegas. It was Sheryl's ability to coach to my strengths and help ME find my opportunities to grow so that I was able to approach my craft with no apprehension or limitations...only the joy of singing...performing...creating an experience for others. Vocal strength, longevity in shows and in career, characterization, stage performance...I have developed them all based off the foundation that Sheryl helped me build! Thank you Sheryl!
