I absolutely loved working with Allana of City Chic Events. She was kind, fun, thoughtful and really helped me out so much with my wedding. I got to meet with her more times than I was expecting before the wedding, and it was essential to remind me of things i wouldn't have thought of, and also to quell my anxieties. She was comforting during a mini-breakdown when I was overwhelmed by life, work, wedding... At the wedding, she helped immensely with coordinating all of the vendors, questions, decor set up and helping me with anything I needed. She helped fix my hair when it was out of place from the windy day, helped with my veil, getting a few stains out of the hem of my dress, etc etc. She had a HUGE emergency kit (I'm talking your dad's fishing box but 10 times as big) and left it open for wedding party/other guests to grab what they might need (hair spray, repair kits, you name it). She was definitely worth every penny and honestly deserved more. Hire her! You won't regret it. If you're wondering if you should have a coordinator, you should. It truly is necessary the day of, since the venue contact person is there for the venue more than you, your maid of honor/best man/parents shouldn't have to be the go-to person for all the little things, and she will help you with all the nitty gritty you don't even think of but things that are important!Feb 1, 2020Verified
Working with Allana at City Chic (she’s is the owner) was the best thing I could have done to help plan our wedding. Allana kept up with each vendor and made great shareable documents for everyone using Google Drive. She helped the groomsman get their tuxedo fittings and conferred with the bridal party on their dresses and attire. She met with our Rabbi and went over the ceremony. She was very sensitive to the fact that there were many family members who only spoke Spanish. She actually is fluent in Spanish! She helped pick our menu by showing up for the tasting (above and beyond!). I didn’t have a single worry on wedding day and neither did my fiancé (now husband)!Oct 16, 2019Verified
Allana was our 30 day wedding planner and overall she did an excellent job. We had a lot of vendors for our big day and Allana made sure to keep everything in line in terms of communication and coordination; We didnt have to do much at all. During our initial meetings she quickly understood what we were looking for and provided great suggestions and feedback. It wasnt long before she became our wedding voice of reason and we wanted her to be a part of everything, down to the tasting. Our wedding day turned out perfectly and she was a big part of that. She's been a big part of our lives for the last couple months and it feels odd that we wont be speaking to her every week. She was pleasant, professional and a joy to work with. Allana and her team were the BEST money I spent while planning my wedding. Full stop. I hired Allana almost 18 months before my wedding as a month-of coordinator. She was the first vendor I hired and was absolutely essential throughout the entire process. She provided so many helpful hints, suggestions, recommendations, planning tools, and consistently went above and beyond to make sure that we were on track (and most importantly on budget). She helped me choose vendors, negotiate contracts, execute my decor visions, coordinate my florals, and gave feedback on all my crazy ideas. She checked in on me emotionally and kept me calm through all kinds of wedding nonsense. As someone who works in events, it would have been too easy for me to become a total bridezilla and obsess over every detail, but with Allana, I was able to hand over the event management and completely enjoy my wedding. For that reason, we are very flexible in designing a custom package within your price range tailored to provide the exact services you need.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always offer an initial, no obligation planning session to all potential brides. This gives the bride and the groom the opportunity to get to know me, my capabilities, and the ability to gauge how well we will work together.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have always been a planner. It started back in high school when I joined student council and helped plan two proms. My joy for planning expanded through college when I became the social chair at my sorority. Planning was in my blood! After I left college, my first official work position was coordinator of special events for a multinational company based in Chicago. It was a blast! I got to travel all over the United States executing all the details for major tradeshows.
