- What types of customers have you worked with?
Caring for their pets with the same five star treatment the pet expects each day. Whether that be throwing a toy in the back yard or brushing their fur, I'm there at the pet's command. Many times, it's simply to sit and pet them as much as they'd enjoy. Always, included in their care will be fresh water, clean food at each visit. If it's a dog, they are let outside in the back to run and sniff around. If this isn't possible, then a walk will be given.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1. References, years in business; does the business specialize in the owner's pets. Will they administer medication -- pills; insulin? 2. What are the general procedures for the business in an emergency? 3. Pet sitter's liability insurance & dishonesty bond (not ordinary business ins). 4. Years in business. 5. Service agreement/contract. Owner is responsible for what is signed; please read thoroughly. 6. Will the business accept last minute reservations? Extra charge? Extra charge for holiday/summer? Minimum visits?Owner 7. Who will take care of the pet(s) if the business owner cannot continue? Who will access to house keys? 8. Approx. hours the business is open? 9. Meet the pet sitter or pet sitters prior to hiring. Never hire simply over the phone. 10. Charge for the initial meeting?
