- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a studying Music and French at Illinois State University. I feel lucky that I have the opportunity to study music, while teaching. The knowledge I get from the classroom stays fresh in my mind when I am teaching. I have also attended conferences like the American String Teachers Association to learn new teaching techniques and ideas. During the school year I participate in activities with this group. I am constantly reading or listening to great master teachers. I never stop learning!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure that both you and your child have enough time for lessons. Practice is essential in private lessons and will be one of the biggest time consumers. Parental involvement is key to children success. I want parents to be involved in lessons as much as possible.
