Jim did a wonderful job addressing my carpet issues which included some additional cleaning for pet stains. He walked me through the process and explained what he would be doing. Upon completion, Jim took me through and allowed me to see each room and area that he had worked on and make certain that I was happy with the service. I would recommend Fiber-Tech to friends and family as a great choice for your carpet cleaning needs.

I recently moved into a new place and was beside myself when I realized that there was visible cat hair left behind. I asked Tanya for help getting my 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse cleaned up so that I wouldn't be stirring up hair every time I walked through the house. All I can say is that I was 110% satisfied. They went so far as to pull the stove and fridge out to clean out the accumulated hair behind and below the appliances. I am allergic to cats and was already breathing easier before they left. The pet odor was also gone, which my roommate noticed as soon as she walked in the door. Personable, professional, thorough, absolutely outstanding ... thank you Tanya!

I was sqeemish about carpet cleaning since my last results were not good. But this time I was very impressed with the results...any trace of ground in dirt and pet stains are gone. Arrival was blessedly prompt. I even got an education about what went wrong with my last cleaning. I would definitely use DL Carpet Care again.

One of my dogs was sprayed by a skunk and brought the odor into my home. It was everywhere and continued to spread. From the couch, to the bedroom, to my office, it just wouldn't go away because my dog pretty much went into every room in my house before I noticed he was sprayed. I tried treating it myself, but nothing worked. I contacted Zak at Pur360 and he was a pleasure to work with. I think I even called him at 10pm one night and he still answered my call. Just great customer service. He explained the process, told me he guaranteed Pur360 could get rid of the skunk odor and he stuck by his word. My house no longer smells like skunk. Thank you Zak and thank you Pur360.

James was personable, professional, BEYOND knowledgeable. He also did a fabulous job cleaning several parts of our upstairs carpeting that were VERY soiled by pet odor (from when we bought the house), and then became worse as my dog needed to put her scent down. We are re-carpeting soon, but desperately need the cleaning to hold us over. James he gave me tips about re-carperting to really block the odor prior to replacing the carpet so that our dog doesn't continue to mark her spot on brand new carpeting. THANK YOU!

I decided to have my kitchen and bathroom cleaned before remodeling. They did an amazing job cleaning. I have never seen my floors and kitchen appliances so clean. There were hard stains and grease buildup and all of it was removed. I would definitely use the services again.

We had them clean two bedrooms, clean our air ducts and clean the grout in two bathrooms. Our condo has been home to numerous dogs (both prior to us purchasing it and two of our own) and the carpeting smelled really bad. They had a black light where they could show us the urine stains....yuck... The good news, they were able to get all of the pet urine odors out and guarantee it! Our air ducts were gross too. They cleaned and sanitized them and now it is wonderful! The grout in our bathrooms needed to be cleaned and I don't have the patient and, frankly, the time to get them as clean as I wanted. They are sparkling clean now. Lucy was lovely to work with as was the young man assisting her. Thank you! We will use your service again!

They cleaned my son's upstairs of his condo. Two small bedrooms and a stairway. They were filthy but the guy got all the dirt and stains out. He also cleaned the tile floor of the master bath. That didn't look much different. Phone person was easy to work with. She confirmed the appointment the day before.

I had all the carpet in my home done. Javis explained what he was doing throughout the job. I had serious pet stains and he made sure they were removed. He used an incredible deoderizer that smells clean and fresh. The price was great! I've priced similar companies and they were twice as much. I will definitely recommend his company to my friends. Thanks Javis Pam

Marc clearly has a broad set of a rather very granular building/construction/remodeling/etc. skill set. We hired Marc to install a few kitchen cabinets that were custom built to the vacant space above and around our refrigerator. He has a keen eye which he utilizes to help point out issues of concern/benefit/consideration to the customer. He is very professional, very friendly to house pets (haha), and cleans up well after the work is completed. And finally, his pricing is as competitive as you will find (I shopped around the Chicagoland area quite a bit). I would absolutely recommend Mark and his team to anyone looking for fixes or upgrades on your home. In fact, we will very likely bring Marc back to continue assessing our damaged roof/leaking issue which he evaluated for us before even beginning the work on the cabinets! And one last thing, which I think is very important as a customer: Marc is extremely flexible with his scheduling. Anyone looking to have work performed on their home/property knows how difficult it can be to find someone willing to work with your schedule - even if it means evenings. Brian

Jim was prompt and very professional. He did everything he said he would and did a GREAT job getting the pet stains and odors out of our couches. They look almost new now! We are so pleased with his work. He wasn't the cheapest quote we got but we believe you get what you pay for and it certainly held true in this case. We will definitely use his services again!!!

Power Cleaning Pro just cleaned my section couch and carpet and did a great job. Cleaning technicians were professional, on time, polite and considerate. Literally every odor that had built up over the winter was removed, leaving the air quality cleaner than ever before and the carpet and upholstery fabric soft to the touch. I would have to recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch job at an honest price.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is upholstery cleaning?

From your carpets to your drapes to your furniture, all fabrics need to be cleaned. Cleaning upholstery, or the fabric on your furniture, removes the dirt and oils that are transferred to couches and chairs through regular use. Because furniture upholstery can be delicate and colors can fade easily, it’s often a good idea to let professional sofa cleaners handle the job. They’ll determine the type of fabric — usually cotton, linen, wool, suede or microfiber — and the appropriate method for cleaning it, either steam-cleaning or applying a dry-cleaning solvent. In general, cleaning an entire piece of furniture includes a pretreatment, cleaning, and neutralizing rinse to the body, plus removing and cleaning all cushions and cleaning all crevices.

An upholstery cleaner may clean the entire piece of furniture, on a regular schedule or by request, or do spot treatments to remove pet, food, drink, or oil and grease stains. Furniture can also be deodorized to remove the smell of pets or tobacco smoke. Furniture that’s used often, like that in your family room, should be cleaned once a year to keep it fresh and extend its life. Sofa cleaners often also offer repair services to mend tears in fabric or patch holes in leather.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

    Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

    Who cleans couches?

Even if your furniture doesn’t appear dirty or stained, your couches are collecting just as much dust, pollen, germs, pet hair and dander, and even food crumbs as your carpets. In general, the same professionals who clean your carpets and drapes can also clean your couches. Carpet cleaners usually offer upholstery cleaning services as well, and may offer a discount if you have your carpets cleaned at the same time. Alternatively, you can choose from a range of professional upholstery cleaners in your area who specialize in cleaning different types of upholstery fabrics, including delicate antique fabrics and other hard-to-clean materials such as suede. In addition to deep-cleaning the entire piece of furniture, sofa cleaners can spot-treat food, pet, and oil and grease stains. Most professionals also offer services to sanitize and deodorize your furniture and apply protectants to prevent future stains. As with carpets, experts recommend that you have your upholstered furniture cleaned once every year or two, depending on how much use it gets and whether you have children and pets.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
