Brian was our magician for our Blue and Gold ceremony entertainment this past saturday and all the kids, young and old, LOVED him. I loved how he involved the kids and made them feel like they were the ones doing the magic tricks. Very entertaining, funny, and great magic.

Beth was amazing! She arrived early to set up and started right on time. She is not just a face painter drawing little doodles on kids' faces, but a true artist. Everyone at our company event was truely impressed by her abilities. She was even able to freehand several requests that were made. We will definitely be inviting her back to any event we hold.

Review for William Powers I am a non-professional singer interested in improving my overall level of performance in both solo and choral situations. I have worked with Mr. Powers on several occasions in preparation for a vocal recital and an opera performance, and I truly cannot recommend him highly enough! Not only is he great fun to work with, he is able to quickly and accurately assess my strengths and weaknesses as a performer, and offer practical advice that I can put into use immediately. He is particularly effective in helping me bring a song to life by examining the emotional content of the music and lyrics, and then presenting it in such a way as to deeply touch the hearts and minds of my listeners. Whatever your current level of skill as a singer, actor, or public speaker, and whether you are an amateur or professional performer, Mr. Powers can give you the inspiration and the practical tools to move on to a much higher level!

We initially hired Brit and her colleague Cassie to play strings at our wedding ceremony. When we discovered Brit is also a talented vocalist/guitarist, we hired her to sing/play for our cocktail hour AND she played our first dance live. She put a ton of time into preparing, and it showed. Everything was perfect and I really appreciate her level of dedication. Thank you Brit & Cassie!

Zack was asked to do our cub scout blue and gold banquet on a short notice and was very accommodating. Our meeting ran a bit late and he was very patient with the situation. He was very prompt to the engagement. He set up his own area and never batted an eye when asked to relote his set up for a skit that was preformed. He was very funny and included not only the scouts but also their siblings and adults were also involved. He is a very professional magician with an act for every situation. We were very pleased and will definitely recommend him to others in need of family friendly entertainment.

Jeremy and Olivia where a huge part of our wedding in October 2017. Jeremy was available to help out where ever we needed him to be and was very professional. Olivia performed live music for our first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances. I was able to pick out the songs I wished to have played. Olivia made each song her own and it made the moments so much more memorable. Jeremy and Olivia both went above and beyond making sure our big day went as planned. We are very happy with their quality of work and professionalism.

We were married on NYE and great music, high energy, and a packed dance floor made the top of our priority list. Kristian brought that and more! Meeting with him was fun and relaxed, and he absolutely nailed it on the music! Our dance floor was full all night and two of my toes were numb for a month because I danced I never left the dance floor! Business aside, he’s just a great person. Great people do great work. ❤️ If you’re looking for a professional, reliable, fun DJ, look no further than Behind the Beats!

Dear Mike and Dave, Thank you both so much for a wonderful evening of entertainment. As the event planner for our company it is always hard to know what type of entertainment will work with our large and diverse group…needless to say you guys knocked it out of the park. First with the Jazz music during our social and dinner, then with the dueling pianos after dinner. I love how you worked the crowd and got everyone involved…the best was the little “cow bell” competition you started between both of our presidents! It is always a good time when you can see top executives of a company let loose and have fun. :) Everyone had such a blast, I will definitely keep you guys at the top of my list for next time.

Shannon got back to me quickly and we went and met her and had a lesson to see if it would be a good fit with her and my daughter. I would do nothing to change my experience it is nice to be able to have a trial lesson to make sure it is a good match. My daughter has only had 3 lessons and I can already hear a big difference in her voice. My daughter loves going and has learned a lot in her few lessons. Also Shannon has been flexible with our busy schedule as long as we can give her some notice. I would not change anything about our experience it went very smoothly.

    About

Artist Bio Funny name. Great band! Most groups start with rock and pop and play blues when they run out of material. They start with blues because it's the basis for all-American pop music since early in the last century, then they take great material and do it the way they think it fits for the band. For 28 years, Chainsaw Curtis and the Creepers have been playing a distinctive brand of roadhouse blues, rock 'n' roll, and R&B music all over Wisconsin, northern Illinois, and eastern Iowa. More about Chainsaw Curtis and the Creepers Curt Rodeheaver started playing music on the piano at age nine and picked up the guitar at thirteen. Gigs for high school dances led to his first nightclub work in 1970. He continued to play in bands and in 1981 in Ithaca, New York with band mate Glenn Davis and started a weekly Blue Monday jam session at a night club called the Nines, which is still going today. According to Living Blues magazine, it's one of the longest continuously running jams in the country. In 1989, Curt moved to Southern Wisconsin from upstate New York to open the Silver Moon Blues Oasis in Darien. He got the name Chainsaw from a line in the Huey Lewis song "Cool Is the Rule (But Sometimes Bad is Bad)." The Creepers started as the house band at the Moon backing artists from Chicago. Curtis would occasionally take the band out of the club and do gigs in other area venues. When Curt left the Moon in 1993, he continued to book the band in clubs, at festivals, and parties. There have been many Creepers over the years (more than 35!). The first Creepers album, Too Much Like Work, was released in 1996 and included eight original pieces and three covers. Dave Luhrssen of the Milwaukee Shepherd Express called it one of the best locally produced blues albums. Curt's song "Nine Months of Winter" got to 102 on the Garageband.com over all charts in a field of more than 20,000 songs. The 2000 release Pantloads of Fun included eight original songs by Curt. John Noyd of Maximum Ink magazine called Pantloads a "smokey barbecue reminiscent of ZZ Top and Los Lobos." Chainsaw Curtis is currently working on material for his third album - (Tragedy's Easy) Comedy's Hard. The Creepers have more than a hundred years of experience on stage. There is video of the band on our Reverbnation page. It's blues! It's electric folk! It's American music! Crank it up.

    About

I perform clown and magic shows for kids and family events, church groups and preschools. The shows get kids involved in making the magic happen. For over 25 years, I have provided quality entertainment at affordable prices. Having started clowning with a guest appearance in the circus followed by 20 years of professional corporate sponsored entertainment for elementary schools and personal appearances, I will bring my kid-friendly experience and fun to your special event. Face painting is offered as an option at additional charge with shows or as a featured attraction for your young guests. My magic shows as Magic Ken are just as much silly fun with amazing surprises as a car packed with clowns. Children from the audience assist in making the real magic happen. Shows can be tailored to fit your party theme or simply be featured as a magic fun show at your event.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a bounce house?

Bounce houses, inflatable castles, moon bounces, inflatable slides and jumpy castles are all large-scale inflatable houses made for interactive entertainment. Commonly intended for children, bounces houses are made of PVC or other durable materials such as nylon or vinyl that when look like a house or castle when inflated. Rental companies deliver bounce houses to birthday parties, festivals, fairs and other events. The companies have industrial-grade blowers that fill the large structures with air to make them bounceable. A common size for a bounce house might be 15 feet by 15 feet by 13 feet. Bounce houses often have a flat, inflatable bottom pad and inflatable walls so that kids can jump and bounce without being hurt, along with a netting door and windows so that kids can see out and adults can see in. Bounce houses are suitable for both indoor or outdoor events, depending on the venue. For large events, rental companies often have a staff member who stays with the structure to monitor safety and keep it properly inflated. There are also wet/dry bounce houses with slides that you can hook up to a hose on hot summer days. A bounce house can be a fantastic addition to a party with kids, keeping them both entertained and contained.

    Are bounce houses safe?

Bounce houses can be safe if operators and parents take proper precautions. Before renting from a company, confirm they are a legitimate company and hold any licenses and insurance required by your state. Ask to see reports of bounce house safety inspections provided by third parties, to make sure the equipment is in good operating condition to prevent injuries. If the rental company does not provide a staff member to oversee the bounce house for the duration of the rental, make sure you are properly trained on how to oversee the equipment. The American Academy of Pediatrics offers these guidelines for parents to help keep their kids safe when using a bounce house:

    • Follow guidelines for safe installation including anchoring. Position away from fences, greenhouses, branches, etc., which would be dangerous should a child fall onto them.
    • Consider limiting use to children 6 years of age and older.
    • Have kids take off footwear, eyeglasses and jewelry before playing.
    • Take sharp objects (pens, keys) that could cause puncture injuries out of their pockets and hands before playing.
    • Don’t let kids of significantly different sizes into the bounce house at the same time. Smaller kids can get hurt by colliding with or falling under an older child.
    • Heed the height and weight regulations of the inflatable.
    • Food, drink, bottles, glasses, etc., should not be taken onto the bounce house.
    • Supervision should be maintained all the time. Supervision means watching constantly, not just being in the area.
    • Do not allow children to push other children off the inflatable. If it is a flatbed, this is especially important to avoid broken arms and legs. If the bounce house is walled, don’t let kids bounce against the walls and crash into one another — this can result in collision injuries.
    • Don’t exceed the maximum number of children at one time in the bounce house.
    • Don’t let kids climb onto the outside walls. Flips and rough play should also not be allowed.

How much does bounce a house cost to rent?

Bounce houses are a fun way to keep kids entertained during birthday parties and other events. The national average cost for renting a bounce house ranges between $160 and $200. Cost will be affected by the size, design and functions of the bounce house you rent as well as the length of the rental. A three-hour rental will likely cost less than an eight-hour rental. Many rental companies offer fun additions like popcorn machines or cotton candy makers, and provide packages with discounts on multiple items. Another item that you may want to rent with your inflatable is a generator to keep the bounce house inflated. Here are some examples of average inflatable rental costs, packages, and common add-ons that many companies provide:

    • Bounce house, 10x10x13-foot: $95.
    • Bounce house, 15x15x13.5-foot: $125.
