I have been in fights before where I had to apply my martial arts background, and I have trained others to defend themselves. I also had excellent instructors that have trained under Erik Paulson, Sifu Dan Inosanto and Benny Urquidez. My father was an army ranger with extensive training in a traditional military style of Taekwondo and ITF style Taekwondo, as well as training in the Army Combatives program that Leonard Holifield created and experience as a bare knuckle boxer. My grandfather trained in Judo. I learned from them as I grew up. My uncle owned an MMA school where he taught various martial arts. I trained in Kali, Western Boxing, Muay Thai, Machado-Style Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do and Combat Submission Wrestling under Darian Whittaker and Christen Ferl though I am not a black belt in any of them (or equivalent of black belt) but I do maintain at a minimum a basic if not intermediate to advanced training in all mentioned martial arts. I trained in WTF style Taekwondo under J.D. Beavens and attained a green belt in Japanese Jujutsu. I have been confirmed by 2nd dan Taekwondo Black Belts Samuel Fleming and S. Kelly as being properly trained in every technique in Taekwondo but I do not study the forms, thus I have no belt ranking. I have trained in Defendu, a WWII self-defense style practiced by the Allied Powers at the time and in Modern Army Combatives during my term of service in the U.S. Army, active duty. I was in a hand to hand situation where I had to defend myself using my experience. I also trained under Mr. Greg in full-contact Taekwondo/karate style kickboxing and trained in Ho Shin Sool under him. I have also trained in the Irish martial arts of Dornaloicht (bare knuckle boxing), Coiler Agus Eille (collar and elbow) and a basic understanding of Bataraicht (Shillelagh-style stick fighting). To my knowledge, I am one of only perhaps 10 people with understanding and training in collar and elbow wrestling.
